Is there any chance we can start giving dial-up customers a warning of incoming large publishes? My est time is about 6 1/2 hours before it's done, so I am estimating this publish is 50-60 mbs large or so. I can bring in about 10mbs an hour or so. Yes, you posted a what's on deck last night, but it was done at 11:23pm my time (EST). I didn't see said message until this morning when I woke up. When this was posted I was already in bed asleep. A few days notice would be nice or even just a hey guys, we have a x amount patch coming up, please be advised. I could have told my wife that the computer will be unusable for 1/2 the day today as I patch SWG. At least then I won't be in the dog house because she can't use the computer because I am patching the game as I could warned her in advance which is always a good thing 8-).

If something is put on to Test Center it's pretty obvious that it'll be released into the Live servers shortly thereafter (usually a Tuesday or a Thursday) Though it isn't a specific date you do know when publishes will be hitting live. Remember Devs can't give solid dates weeks in advance as the timeline could change suddenly voiding the date the publish will go live.

Is there no way for you to access high speed internet? (IE: Take your computer to a friend/relative's house to download the patch quick and then return your computer quickly to your wife)

Other then that I feel you will have to continue to be used to the doghouse.

Nope, my closest relative lives over 4 hours away and with gas prices now over $3.00 a gallon here I will be making that trip even less now. I know no one else in this area that has broadband either. There is broadband about 10 miles away, but again I don't know anyone. We don't get out of the house much as we have 4 children and neither one of us drinks, so bars would be out. I fear you may be right, I better start making the doghouse more of a livable place 8-).
