A posting on how to use diffenent programs, wingdings, color changes, simple HTML, all would be great. I know some of it, but would love to learn more. Thanks

The best help is if you know how to code in HTML. Since that is beyond the scope of a simple forums post, it would be quite difficult to "post a faq" concerning this topic.
A good refrence is, of course, the World Wide Web Consortium. They have all the white papers on the HTML spec available there.
Having said that, there are some tools that can make your life easier.
First, try using the built-in HTML editor on the forums. Just create a new post anywhere, make your .SIG in it, and then click the edit as HTML option at the bottom. Copy and paste
To do fades, the best tool I've found is the Online HTML Colour X-Fader.
To do little graphics and the like... there's Text-Image.com.
Also, you can use the Windows Character Map (Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Character Map) to look up different symbols and the like, then use <font> tag.
Hope this helps you
