How does one create a clickable link in a post... I have tried it... by using the a href command and it shows up as clickable in the preview... but not in the post itself...

Its a bug in the board software. Preview your post first, then swap to HTML, enter the HTML Tag and then hit submit. Preview, editing or grafical editor will kill the link again.
