why did they stop? bring make live events and make them happen more offten, i miss the rebel v imp capital raids, the blacksun attacks, and the dark jedi master the grinders at the MOP

they occur all the time. I always hear about them after the fact (so I have never actually seen one T_T)

Generally I would say check with your individual server and see what player events are up - the live events team tends to show up for player events and liven things up.

i don´t think he was talking about Player live events but Dev live events like the droid invasion in theed palace etc

you mean Player events or Dev events?

i think the last Dev live event i took place in was the droid invasion in theed palace. And that one wasover a yearago.

Don´t you get informed via system message about them anymore? i play about daily on Euro-Infinity from 16GMT till about 0GMT, during weekends longer ofc and i haven´t noticed a event like the droid invasion again after it.

This might not be the right place to ask, but I heard that any time you see Darth Vader or Luke giving quests in Theed/Coronet/Bestine, that it's really Pex(or some other developer) there in the Luke/Vader skin.
Is this true?

No it is not.. those are scripted events. If you see them elsewhere exhorting the troops to greater effort and singling out players and praising individuals using their name.. then it is pex or the live events team.

He means Dev Events. Although the events team will occasionally help with decorations for a player event.

Normally we do not do a galaxy wide system message but do system messages that only reach the immediate surroundings.

What about doing planetwide ones Virrago ?? I have only been at two live events and it was at the tail end of them just as they were finishing. It would be nice to be able to go see a live event that the dev's have spontaneously spawned.

The reason they only do it in small areas is because once its advertised to a large area, the word will QUICKLY spread and tons of people will show up. Once so many players all congregate in one area, that area becomes unstable and completely laggy until it finally crashes. So if they advertised every event in advance or to the entire server/planet everyone would show up and it'd ruin the event for those who happen to be in the area at the right time and any of those who showed up trying to get to the event which basically means everyone loses out in the end.

Pex says he has a bunch of these planned for right after the expansion hits.

I've been bugging him to dust off the famous NPC's and to put them into action. Or alternatively, to have the emperor release chemical weapons... Something like what happened in WoW not too long ago. hehe.

He's the only dev that I know of that responds to my PM's. hehe. So of course he's an awesome dev in my book.

I mean how cool would it be to see Darth Vader strolling through Coronet or Theed, wiping the floor with all the Jedi there.

Or Boba Fett for that matter. hehe.

Man, I really miss the old days with UO. UO had some awesome events with their famous NPC's. There is absolutely NOTHING like having a real person controlling the famous NPC's. It's really fantastic. Seeing the NPC's running on a script just doesn't cut it for me.

I love those kinds of events. Kinda funny that in 2 years I never got a badge for being at one, course, I've only actually been around for the tail end of like 2 events a year and a half ago or so.
