Thread: How do I stop that Annoying movie from loading at the home screen?

I play the game. I dont wanna see an advertisement about it. It starts sucking up my computer resources to play and makes sound when I don't necessarially want sound. All I want is a toggle to turn it off permanently. If you want me to see it, put a link, dont force it on me. Any ideas without making major changes to the way my whole system operates?

use firefox adblock extension. worked great for me.

You can also right-click on the movie and select stop.

Ya but I am looking for a more permanent toggle for that thing and I cant go installing 3rd party software on my work computer.

i use IE and i never notice any movie either, no clue what you are talking about


you sure you don´t have any kind of addware/spyware on your comp?

Firefox+Adblock is your friend

I never noticed any such movie.

Oh, its there all right and not spyware. Its a main part of themainpage. Says tv ad 1, tv ad 2, E3 trailer on teh right hand side. It is basic advertising for the game, and the only way I got it to stop in IE was to right click and stop it manually.

I agree everytime i go to SWG home page it starts up Very annoying, almost as much as the token respec pop up window i get a hundred times a day

Okay, I was wrong, the pop up respec window 100 times a gaming session IS the MOST annoying thing. That stupid movie is a close second though...
