Thread: Why are the Newbie Entertainer Quests so incredibly cruel?

For the introduction to the Entertainer life in SWG, players are shown a slight view into the underworld of Tatooine...sneaking between various locations and charming secrets out of NPC's to make a difference in the galaxy. This is ridiculously mean to players doing these quests for two reasons:
A) The badge still does not grant for completion of that quest, nor will Customer Service do anything to help but ask us to wait for the developers to fix it and "keep watching the forums" for more information. I have not seen any acknowledgement of issues facing Entertainers for a long time, nor have I seen ANY "In Concept," "In Development," or "Focus Threads" on ANY Entertainer changes. Our correspondents have stepped up to bat, but the most we receive in return is a single post telling us that the developers do not want us to be needed in SWG.
and
B) It is a totally unrealistic portrayal of Entertainers in SWG. All of the other Newbie quests show an accurate glimpse into what you will be doing as that profession. If Entertainers are not going to get the ability to play a role outside of giving a few inspiration buffs, do not make the quest with the initial exposure of the Entertainer profession to be advertising our place in the game as some kind of "important" one. It would be like saying on commercials that you can meet Yoda and then not being able to. Or that SWG is up 24/7.

Hm, interesting. I've not done that quest, nor heard anything about it. I do have to say though, that the new players' first view of Jedi fighting for the fate of the new character is really silly. Are they TRYING to make everyone become a Jedi?

Yes. Read the diologue from the newbie missions. "I can sense there is something special about you", "You have a bigger purpose", etc. The game is trying to send a message to new players. "If you're not a Jedi, you're doing something wrong."...
