HI jadae acctualy its me Soy,
I got baned for saying "homo" 2 weeks ago .... i see people saying f@g and such all day long and they don't get anything ... am i asking too much to put a dmn timer there ???

Did you know that you can actually get supended for circumventing the profanity filter or even for bumping threads?
Haha, sorry but thats funny... if they are going to ban you for using that word then they need tocorrect all these people out here cussing by using $ signs and they need to start correcting people in here using the "lords name in vain" as far as I am concerned its highly offensive to me.All you have to do or developers for that matteris do a search for that word and find other posts that have used it and say its discrimination to correctone personand not everyone
By the way,I hope they realize that the reference is no different than referring to someones preference such as race or color.Seriously, its h$mo and h$tero, a person is either one or the other right? I mean its more clear cut than me trying to decide if I should call a white person just white or caucasion American, black person an african american or black, hispanic or mexican or latino, and is it Indian, American Indian, Hindu or Arabian, am sure the list could go on forever.So what one person might find offensive another may not even think that way *shrugs*
I think whoever reported you should have had a spine. Last week, someone I consider a very good friend called someone something that really upset me. He referenced the guy to be acting like a "Rytarded little kid." Now you see someone who hasn't cared for or ever been around kids with disabilities might not think nothing of it but where I have it kind of hurt. Instead of reporting it, I merely talked to him as an adult and told him why it bothered me and to please rethink upon it and he understoodand respects beinggiven a second chance to correct than to not ever have one. I realize that it doesn't always work but developers should not be here to have to play mommy and daddy and field name calling and even at that was you even given a first warning not to do it again or just banned immediately? To me, banning should be something that is done after a person repeats the same action again and shows they have learned nothing from the experience of being corrected
My best suggestion to the developers is to place words like hom$ and J$sus Chr$st etc. in the word filter and suspend rather than ban someone from forums for a first offense, ban forrepeating same offense only cause itsreally pointless in teaching them a lesson and learn from mistakes so that they have a chance to not repeat them
*Now I only wish I had a chance to get my purse back that got stolen last Thursday out of my van that way I could have a second chance to never leave it in my unlocked van--- true story--- just an absentminded mom who believes everyone deserves at least a second chance to learn from their mistakes*
Oh and no I didnt know you can get in trouble for circumventing the profanity filter but then there would be a massive amount of people they would need to correct in all seriousness its discrimination of the worse kind to correct one person and not the masses. I use the above to explain my thoughts not to call anyone names or to misuse the words but to try to explain to developers where there is a flaw in their method of correction to a degree
If it is a permanent ingame ban then chances are it's because of a repeat offence and SOE believed that was the only punishment left that would correct the behavior.
Have your friend send an appeal to the email posted earlier in the game if he/she thinks it was too harsh of a punishment for the crime. Chances are SOE will stick by their decision though so be prepared for the worst.
