It's official. Tiggs has stated that publishes will now emphasize fixing what is broken over thrusting more broken stuff into the game.
This is a VERY good thing, and I think it will improve the health of the game. We've had earth shattering changes to the game's core systems, and time needs to be spent on the issues that this has created. I'm very glad that SOE has decided to listen to us, and start emphasizing quality assurance over the next publishes.

I'm only afraid the game will grow 'stale' with the lack of new things put into the game. It's onlya matter of time that some people complain they have nothing left to do if they do not find a perfect balance of adding new things into the game and fixing prior issues.

I feel the next two hot fixes and next publish should be amied at fixing the bugs. I am not one to massively complain about the bugs becuase 1. I program and I understand the complexity of having so much code and 2. I just started about a month or two ago so have not encountered too many that prohibit me from enjoying my game expierence. However, I do feel that because the developers push stuff live knowning bugged they should fix it before they contiune to push more bugged content. I think a nice balance would be to have a publish and then the hot fixes are there to fix the bugs of that publish. First though, I would like to see bug's fixed. After they havea good bit of the bugs fixed, start this cycle of content publish and bug hot fix!
But, this is all just my opinion.

Perhaps the best balance would be to alternate what publishes are, such as this:
Publish X.0: New content, major revamps, bug and balance fixes.
Publish X.1: Bug and balance fixes, little new content
Publish X.2: Bug and balance fixes, little new content... and so on, as many needed until deemed ready for:
Publish X.0: New content, major revamps, bug and balance fixes.

I agree with the sentiment. Bugs must be squashed.. or:
"The only good bug is a dead bug!"
That guy is my software hero.

I don't mean to come across like an oldie or anything but the thing about putting out publishes then fixing the publishes was exactly how it used to be. That was until things got to far ahead of them (probably when they went all guns blazing to get the jedi village out, publish 10 or whatever it was) Then it just became the case there was far too much to do for 1 publish or even two (This is not to say there are not quite a few stupid bugs that have been the game since day 1)
Hopefully thischange in policy will be enough to pull the game back to where it should be.
