Thread: It's Official the Combat re-balance is an AMAZING SUCCESS!!!
Hardly, this statement doesn't even deserve discussion. It's a new game, rushed out the door into live, that is still looking at a new multi-year effort at balancing and debugging, not to mention back-filling on professions and content. All the high-end activities around krayts, elders, geno, and DWB are unbalanced, as we'd expect from a new game, and we've got long, long months ahead of us to shake things out. It was just getting there with the old game after two years of work. Buckle the seat belts, its still a bumpy ride ahead.

The combat system is now perfectly balanced....
How did they do it!! THEY GAVE EVERYONE A JEDI!!!
I would like to take the credit for the above statement but that has to go to Subedei of DND.
(Nearly) everyone on Chimaera that wanted a Jedi character has now got one due to the ridiculous 4x XP and respec to what u want system.
I dunno man. My crafter is CL 1. Just got incapped my stepping out of my house on talus. Talus is not a high level planet yet I got hit twice and that was all she wrote. On my combat toon I just happend to notice that I was roughly equal to a CL25 faction npc. I am CL 80. The only and I stress only thing that seperated me was I could hit for a little more damage.
Personally this cookie cutter crap with crafting is driving me insane. I have nothing to work for in both crafting and combat. And with this being a long weekend my server is sure empty. Well in comparison to last year and the year before that.
That of course must explain the SWG TV commercial I just caught a glimpse of. Funny but with all the Star Wars hype out there you would think that the servers would be teeming with new players. My own personal experience dictates differently. I guess somebody is feeling a bit of a pinch.
SWG was in a slow but steady state of decline before the CU. Think of the CU as adding gasoline to a pile of smoldering wood and that would pretty much describe what happened. People who felt strongly enough dropped their accounts and moved on. Some of use decided to stick around for a bit and see how things go. Then, to add insult to injury, the CU introduced/reintroduced bugs into a game that had acheived a rather high level of stability over the past two years. Top it off with breaking/rebreaking/nerfing professions into worthlessness and that was the recipie to disaster. Leaving the original system in place would have been more prudent. The devs had two years of feedback from correspondents and players alike to work with. The game wasn't broken it was unbalanced. Now the game is just plain broken.
