...is it not a little redundant to provide, as a veteran gift, the kindness of a double xp week when vets are very likely to have completed their templates?

I believe this double exp is the two year anniversary gift for SWG, not the veteran rewards.

Not only that..but hey, here's a great idea on the part of SOE...Let's wait till Saturday Afternoon to take down the servers, and turn the reward on. Right while people are in the middle of important missions...
I'm really impressed guys...good job. I only waited like 2 weeks to group up with enough capable people to help me out on my space missions.
