Thread: Director of Community Relations
- Monitors the various community relations activities faculty; comprehensively analyzes and documents the nature and extent of faculty contact with community constituencies, and develops authoritative reports for public dissemination.
- Interacts with the student body to monitor and document the nature and extent of community relations activities, with emphasis on the interactions of student professional associations, clubs, and/or other organizations with the business community; prepares authoritative reports for public dissemination.
- Plans, develops, and prepares brochures, press releases, and other forms of communication to publicly disseminate information on faculty intellectual contributions and achievements, and on the community services offered by the various academic programs of the entity.
- Designs, coordinates, and facilitates the execution of various fundraising campaigns and events in support of the unit's programs and projects; plans and implements various other student and/or alumni activities and events, as appropriate.
- Develops and maintains comprehensive data on professional achievements, contributions, and other noteworthy accomplishments of alumni, and integrates this information into publications, presentations, and other media outlets.
- Develops and maintains information on all faculty research and/or other intellectual contributions; maintains contact with faculty to appropriately document publications, presentations, and other public disseminations of contributions for summarization in published reports.
- Plans, coordinates, and facilitates strategic advertising in local media outlets, to include newspapers, radio, and/or television.
- Serves as liaison to local, state, and federal government agencies on community relations issues.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
- Information research skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of the nature and scope of faculty research and development activity within area of academic specialty.
- Ability to analyze and interpret intellectual information and to develop accurate and descriptive abstracts and summaries.
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
- Knowledge of advertising requirements pertaining to a range of media.
- Knowledge of alternative fundraising programs, methods, and techniques.
- Knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques.
I copied the above from a description provided by the University of New Mexico as it was the most general I could find. The purpose of this post (for me at least) was to get an idea of what you all thought about tweaking this for our community, and what you all think in general of how we are being treated by Sony Online Entertainment.

Bearing in mind that we ARE a sub-culture, (and a particularly fickle one at that) what do you all think about our relations as a community?
I think constructive Dev feedback on threads that have been stickied would be nice. (Can't ask for dev feedback on every thread, the corrospondent needs to weed out the redundent, absolute silly ones)
