I have played SWG since July of 2003, andI love it! As a JediI get countless questions from new players that want to know how to do what veteran players consider as mundane tasks. Simple things that are posted in the 'Tuesday tips' to the usual question: How doI become a Jedi? There are various other questionsI am asked as a Jedi, that my alt doesn't get. I'm therefore assuming that new players ask my Jedi toon since they see me as a veteran player, which I am.

Could SOE/SWG/Lithium develop a feature in the new player tutorial that would also take the new players through forum registration/e-mail verification and a general introduction to the official SWG forums? Not that, I as a veteran player, want to be rude to new players. However, many of the questions that new players ask me are covered (and usually more accurately)in profession specific forums.

I see this as beneficial in many respects. New players will have tools for basic SWG knowledge discovery.SOE will lessen the chance of the 'rude veteran' interacting with a fresh off the ship adventurerer of our grand game. Also, new players will begin interacting with the server specific communities that in turn cement a new player to the game they are delving into.

I think this will help SWG in the long run and be a popular feature with new players.

Thank you for your time.

The only problem here, is alot of people have no wish to use forums. I never really like useing forums, and still don't as this forum page is almost as bugged as the game is.

Also the forums are an optional way for the players to interact. I don't think I'd play long if I asked a question in game and got "read the forums n00b"

I'm not saying you are rude like that, but if they integrated the use of the forums into the game, you would almost start seeing the same flames ingame as well.

Just my 2 credits worth.

That is my point, the new players already get that (veterans with n00b comments). This way they will be better informed and ask less questions that are in FAQs.

While their at it - they could introduce a veteran system within the ranks Jedi are not veteran players anymore - they unlock in 3 weeks and get a full template in 2 weeks.

Maybe older Jedi who unlocked on hologrinding should get a title - like the old Force titles (not that you see many of them now) - Dark Force Wielder

(THE REALER)
Apeik Torres
Pre-9 Dark Jedi Knight

(A Very old Jedi)
