This is essentially correct. We gave people the right and more than just a handful of people abused that right. With over 40k post a day it is just not feasable to rely on people reporting and us manually catching bad images so we had to remove them.

Maybe they could allow images but only from trusted websites,

Websites which can be trusted to have clean images (starwarsgalaxies.com, lucasarts.com, etc) would be allowed automatically, but images hosted on people's websites (or imagebucket type sites) won't be accepted but instead will be replaced with a link which opens the website in a frame and the viewer can choose wether the image is safe to show or wether it should remain a link, (5 votes for safe makes the image show on the forums but 5 votes for un-safe makes it remain a clicky...forever!! *maniacal laughter*

Clicky (I've been playing Galaxies for ages but have only recently started using the x-fire thing so that's why my counter is not in the thousands (maybe hundred thousands))
