Tiggs,
I don't know if you have gone through and read all of the posts in the Live issues threads for the last, about 3 "hotfix" publishes, but MANY MANY players are experiencing problems with getting appropriate loots off od certain MOBs in the game.
A lot of players too, are upset because you seem to have offered NO acknowledgment that this issue even exists. LOOT is one of the KEY aspects of this game, how are we able to function properly if we cannot loot items that in the past we HAVE been able to loot from certain MOBs??
For Example, Nightsisters seem to no longer drop crystals (they still seem to, on the RARE ocasion, drop items though); Nyax no longer drops ANYTHING except Grenades and LLC's, it seems it is no longer possible for him to drop ANY SEAs; also ( and MOST importantly) Krayts of ANYKIND seem to longer to be dropping pearls, period, regadless that there has been a hotfix that "increased pearl drops" in the Giant Canyons and Ancients krayts only, the fact of the matter is, krayts NO LONGER DROP PEARLS.
Tiggs, can you PLEASE give us some kind of ackowledgement on this issue so we don't all feel like we are totally insane??
Because of Tiggs and SOE's disrespect to us, I just bought WoW. How hard is it to give some answers ? Everyone is posting how messed up the loot is, and nothing is being addressed. It's all being pushed under the rug.
I don't care now if it's a bug or a nerf. Either way, we aren't getting answers. I believe we deserve more. I felt all the improvements were going quite well. But, I'm starting to see all the same lies and broken promises from 2004. My other account was already banned here, supposedly for trolling. Even though I was posting on the Items and Loot forum about the loot problem. How's that for customer service?
I don't care if every dunni squirts a flawless pearl out his butt. I'm tired of being ignored and pushed aside. We deserve some answers.
Maybe you should fix the old probelms first before adding so much and not testing it all properly. And make up your mind, do you want krayts to drop pearls or not? I lost faith in the CURB too. If they can't even handle loot drops which I think should be a minor issue to fix. How are they going to handle something major like the CURB? And don't tell me it will be alpha and beta tested. We all know that bugs get through their testing procedures.
So wether you are for loot or against it, aren't you all sick and tired of being jerked around ? I know I am.
Just got the latest issue of one of our fav gaming mags, and not only did they give SWG and JTL 2.5 stars, but they were absolutely and IMHO appropriately merciless in describing gameplay. It was so hilarious that it was also sad and bittersweet.
In one screenshot they showed a player standing in an empty yacht, and captioned it something like, "players get to stare out windows," and further described JTL as getting ships that are as empty as the ground game. They were merciless and right on target, well worth a read. I know SOE is trying to do something about things to their credit, but the same old evil pops its head up more often these last weeks, with statements made by devs like "we'll mess with the pearl drops as we see fit," while at the same time we're pulling our hair out for lack of loot.
My daughter tried to tease me, cause I'm online daily, and said, "haha Dad, your game got 2.5 stars," and I said back frankly, "no I'm glad, its getting the feedback it deserves, and I would not have been so generous as to give it 2.5 stars."
Would be a sad thing if it dies rather than getting fixed, but the responsibility for that has always been the way SOE conducts itself, its project management, its feedback loop, communication, and ability to work with the customers to build a customer-centric gaming experience, ie. one that we want to play, vs. what SOE designers wanted to stuff down our throats. It's our game, not theirs.
I've been reporting a bug for sometime that is absolutely Top Priority to crafters and resource gatherers in general, and despite repeatedly bringing it up in the Issues threads, it is not acknowledged, so we have no idea if it is being worked or not, or is even on their To Do List.
Harvesters have always been buggy, where we'll find one that seems to have stopped for no apparent reason, but in the last couple of multi-week spawns, I've had 75% of my harvesters just not collect goods. In both cases I filed a /bug, and in another I filed a ticket, and the CSR's response was a complete disconnect, and frankly worthless, basically make sure its powered, has maintenance, and maybe try replanting the harvester. ??
I'll repeat the exercise:
Day 1:
- Add power
- Add maintenance
- Power and Maintenance confirmed at more than 10 days
- Add Admins (my alt)
- Select Resource (97% concentration)
- Turn on Harvester (visual queues light up, harvester started)
- Open Hopper to confirm collection of resources
- Hopper starts collecting resources...
- When the hopper collects 10 units, I close the hopper and the interface
Day 2:
- Open Interface and Hopper
- Harvester appears to be functioning - visually
- Hopper has 10 units in it, as if it stopped collecting the moment I closed the interface the day prior
- As I'm watching the hopper, there is a long pause, then all on its own, it starts collecting again, 11.. 12... etc. all I did was open the interface and hopper, it was stopped for mysterious reasons, and started collecting again mysteriously (similar to the factory problem we had recently and was fixed).
- THIS HAPPENED TO 75% of MY HARVESTERS
This is unacceptable and is crippling to the effort, and our gametime. Not only is it crippling to do the effort, expend the resources and credits, travel, etc. to walk away with 40% or less of the resources I should have gotten from the spawn, but I'm spending entire gaming sessions micromanaging and babysitting the harvesters.
From SOE's perspective, back to the point of communications, this has been reported repeatedly, we're crippled, and nobody is acknowledging this. It does not seem to happen to everyone, but it is happening, and to a crafter, its crippling in terms of effort and gametime, and frustrating to a breaking point.
I have a funny feeling this game will phase out rather than be repaired. I havent played if a few days and funny enough have no desire too. Although you should know by now the respone you will recieve from reporting issues. I am curious, however, what this magazine gave five stars to. Lol as far as your comment that you put "its our game not theirs" in an earlier thread there was this response by a player:
"Yet many people like him come on here and lay into the devs as though they own the game. You dont! You "rent it" as the devs have put it before. That $15 a month does not give you the right to have the final say in anything. This is in that agreement you hit "I accept" before logging on to the game. You know all those words and paragraphs that you skip and say "yeah, yeah whatever" and start playing your game? It says it right in there that the devs get the final say in everything. That $15 just gives you the right to control a limited amount of avatars on the servers in the game. Where in the world does it say in any TOS, EULA or online scripture that the $15 a month gives you the right to have the final say in how the game is run or how the public relations is ran?? Or did we just enacted the consumer god-complex?".
I believe this guy hit dead on the head what the Devs really feel about their customer base and wont actually put in a post. This is the best summary I have ever read on the Admin mentality (which is why I keep refrencing it).
Now that you know the Dev mentality the question is will you continue to pay to deal with that mentality?

/agree
this is still going on, and there's still no recognition from SOE that this is happening. Back to basics on bug prioritization.
