Thread: Ways to change the game for the better!

1. Stop rushing. People have enjoyed the game in it's broken state for a couple of years now, there is no reason to push combat upgrades just because other games are coming out, or to complement a movie release. You say your in our world now as a slogan, but I beg to differ. This is our world. The customer. If you don't start heeding that it will end up being our world where no one plays. I will be one of the last to go, but all my friends have already left, and I don't see a huge influx of new people.

2. Allow Character transfer for Jedi - Let me explain. People like me started playing early on and unlocked jedi fast because thats what we wanted to do. (I unlocked January of 2004) I started on the Chimera server which is european, my reason being that I was stationed there with the US Army so I figured I would play on the server that gave me the best ping. Well I went to iraq about a year ago and returned about 3 months ago. I left the army and am back in the US. The only problem is my ping on Chimera makes it almost unplayable for PvP (especially as a jedi). So I would need to transfer to another server to live and also play with people that are on my same time schedules.

3. Fix racial bonuses, or change the way that races are handled to make it so that not only humans are the dominate race. I mean Twi'lek for example. One of the coolest races in the game are severely hampered because of the way thier stats are. I don't know how it is after the CU, but I am sure it will be the same. Humans dominating the galaxy.

4. Bring back the monthly storyline / badgequests. In my opinion this was some of the best months in the game when you actually felt the need to participate in "events" to influence who was ontop in the next months storyline quest.

5. Improve customer service. There are a lot of good answers to questions posted here, and then again there are a lot of really bad answers. The problem is you either a) are not informing your CSR's or you just don't train them period. If they are going to Represent the company and the game then why would you let them leave a bad taste in everyone's mouth frequently?

There are many more things that can be done, like more ambientmusic. Although this is Star Wars, we aren't ina space vaccum where no sound travels. there is far too much good Star Wars music out there to not have a little more ambient music. EverQuest 1 was really good for this because eachzone you went to had it's own music and therefor set the tone for where you were.

Improve the current classes, don't completely change the systems they work under. Things that have been promised should be fixed.

Like smugglers were supposed to get a revamp and all you did was make it harder for a smuggler to earn a living (scans and sliced weapons) and you still haven't changed spices and drugs to be quality based. You should change the smuggler class name from smuggler to chemist who spends hours buying faction for other people. Because as it currently stands thats all they are good for. Most people will only buy faction points at one point in thier game. That is when they decide they want to be a "Colonel" of thier respective faction.

Creature handlerscould be changed to Droid Handlers or perhaps Droid Leaders. Based on thier skill they could control more droids and have more firepower in thier arsenal. You never saw jabba's rancor handler walking him into bestine while he went to the bank. This is supposed to be Star Wars - more droids makes that feel like a true statement.

Bio-engineers - Besides pets (which are silly anyway) they have no end product that makes them special, or makes people want to be that class. Please look into a complete re-vamp and give them the ability to make player enhancements (KoTR style).

Architect - This class is another one time shop class. Basically you end up buying maybe 10 of each harvester type, and buy a house / establishment and then what? You can only decorate / redecorate so many times before it's the same old thing. How about letting Architects craft faction bases with the use of faction points?

Droid-Engineer - Make thier droids stronger. A battle droid should be stronger than it is. You did the droid revamp but droids barely got upgraded. Most people I know wouldn't use a droid unless it was to distract mobs for a period of time for that person to complete some other task.

Ranger - Please add more bonuses to this class so that those devoted few are actually wanted / needed. Other than tracking and increased harvesting rangers really get the short end of the stick =+(

Merchant - Make merchant either a no skill profession like politician (youd have to reduce maximum item count on merchants to avoid people using them as only storage) Or reduce the skill cost. This profession in itself offers no way to make money. It is a required profession if you want to sell your items while you are not there and an advertisement tool. In my opinion this skill set is not what it could be.

These are just some of my suggestions. I've seen other similar posts before but perhaps an interested developer will find his time to read this post and take it to the next brainstorm meeting.

Why take the profession that I love and change it? Just because you don't feel that CH is Star Wars enough? If my profession got changed to Droid Handler or Droid Leader I would leave this game and never look back. I play this game nto only because of the Star Wars name, or because I have waited for a Star Wars MMORPG since MMORPGs came about, but because of the Creature Handler profession. CHs are Star Warsy in their own right. There was more then just the Rancor handler in Jabba's palace that handeled creatures. Who trained the Dewbacks so that they can be ridden? How about those Rontos?

Other then Goldenrod and R2-D2, how many other droid did you actually see in episode IV - VI? Okay you seen the ones that the Jawas were selling, the one that Chewie roars at on the Deathstar, Probe Droid on Hoth and the driods during the beginning of RotJ with Jabba. I can't really recall any other droids. There may be more, but they are prominent throughout the movie. I have read many EU books and don't recall many driods there either. Other then episode I - III where there are many droids, but look at the time period. There really aren't many droids throughout the movies or EU that I can really think of. Does this mean we should get rid of the Droid Engineer profession?

There's the real issue with CHs. You think their silly. You are entitled to your opinion, but please do not ruin my profession just because you think pets are silly.
