Would Tigg's, TH or the 'New Guy' please be so kind as to explain to the general populace why the Combat Upgrade has been brought forward almost 2 weeks early. The Forums are covered in flames, rants, and hate threads from people absolutely livid at this action. Especially due to the fact that the CU is still full of bugs and not working correctly in places, and players (mostly those with multiple accounts,) are quitting in droves.
It would make sense to quench the fires with diplomacy, and advise the paying customers why this has happened, and what else is going to happen to interrupt their gaming. Giving 24 hours notice is hardly sufficient. And with so many paying customers leaving, is their going to be an SWG left to make the game financially viable for the customers remaining.
I've also heard thatplayers aregoing to other Gaming websites, and Industry press to tell them of what is happening and the total lack of response from SOE. Surely it makes sense to keep us the people who pay for this game in the loop before the Press start hounding you to find out what the hell has gone wrong.

Forgot to mention the in game protests with players camping and spamming starports intent on bringing down the servers so as to get SOE's attention.
SOE, talk to the customers, and let them know whats going on.

People have been talking over the CU since the conecept came out. So you could say that the diplomacy card has already been played. We already have the answers to your questions on the forums. Just go into the dev tracker and start going back from there.

First of all, crashing servers intentionally is a bad idea, if its an inadvertent side effect of picketing that might be different but don't forget that SOE always has the trump cards and our protests against the CU have just been or are in the process of being trumped. The CU is going live is their first trump, the ace of spades is the final trump card. Soe can simply take their ball and go home, the ball or balls being bloodfin, ahazi et al. They have the magic off switch. Now, I dont think that they would use it this late in the game because of all the money that has been put into this so called upgrade. Yes, the upgrade sucks! Yes SOE's customer service appears to not be interested in our opinions but don't forget that they are a corporation and have other things to look at. With all the apparent mismanagement, bugs since release that I have been hearing about for the past six months and utter contempt towards the subscribers if they ain't changed by now they ain't gonna. The contempt shown me by SOE is really what bothers me, not so much the cu since I mostly pilot anyway.
