I would like to apoligize on behaf of myself and any community members that may want to. We have all said some pretty rotten things that don't help this process. I still don't like the CU, and I think that its being pushed WAAAY to early, but I think I've realized that some PHB has put this into motion, not the DEVs. Sh*t happens, and I'm sorry that you have to be in the middle of it. I hope that you are thinking the same things here, or are at least listening, because its going downhill fast, so please, maybe a week or two of live, pull this one out of broken and move it to fixed.
And I still don't like the CU, but I'm hanging around for some unknown reason. Please, I beg, read this and think, and realize that at least I know whats going on, or think I know, because I go through this on a smaller scale at my job almost every day... nothing works right some days, but we have to do it, upgrades have to go out and development time must be justified. So, good luck, I hope and pray you can get it fixed and right. Thanks

I would like to take this oportunity to say that he does not speak for me. As for the things I have said, I meant them all. As a matter of fact I was VERY restrained. There is no kiss and make up as far as I'm concerned. Once this monstrosity ruins the live game I will only play long enough to move my good things to my yaht in very sincere hopes that LA drops you soon. I will never return to this game as long as Sony has a part init's continued development. What you have done to this game is disgraceful. /tar SOE /spit

I to have said some naughty things. But I meant it all. And I have been extremely restrained about it.
I dont like the CU and "double xp" for a week isn't going to smooth things over for me. Alot of the people who are quitting tried the CU on TCwhatever at least once. I tried it for two weeks. I still don't like It. The combat system I compaired it with wasn't the one we currently have. But the one we had at launch. Yes there is a huge difference. Heck I even went as far as to emulate myself at launch with the twi'lek carbineer starting out on Talus thing. What I got was the experience I got from grinding my RL friends avatar on EQ2. Problem is that I don't like EQ or EQ2. So if SWG is to become EQ in space then why should I pay for a game I never liked?
No my account dissapears on the first. And its going to remain that way from the looks of it.

I just love how they delete any posts that are not "in-line" with their lies! You don't speak for me and being that I work for a large retailer, I'm keeping the public informed about the things that go on here every time they ask me about the game. Word of mouth alone will kill SOE.

Sorry but I don't agree with you. When you are in charge of a release that you know is buggy beyond any reasonable measure and it will not satisfy your customer, the only professional thing to do is to resign. Otherwise you’re an accessory to a conspiracy to deceive the customer.
I really question the ethics of this company. They used voluntary testers for the quality assurance of a product they should have done themselves before going beta. They most likely used the bugs found by the testers to produce a PS2 version of the game, something for which none of them volunteer and which has to be bug free, because it is almost impossible to patch it. They lied and censored any rational discussion about their product and their goals. And they are forcing a product that everyone can see is inferior to live into their customer’s computers.
I will avoid to do any business with this company. My account is cancelled already. Hopefully Lucas Arts will take the franchise out of the hands of these people and give it to someone that can guarantee something deserving the name "StarWars".

Very incompetent business leadership and project management. Highly questionable communication and business ethics, from misleading to manipulative. Very heavy handed in quashing opposing viewpoints. A big zero all around.

In a effort to be fair:
/salute database admin, network engineers, bug fixers, artists, coders and all the little people who were ask to do the impossible to meet a deadline. The CU is not your fault, you will be victimized by it if it goes as bad as many of us expect. Nevertheless, we players know thatyou are not to blame, you were just doing your job.
/rude Product managers, technical leads, game designers. Shame on you. You knew that you have to cut corners to meet an absurd deadline and you did. (What is the CU but cutting corners in the development process? Just look at the beta). You are supposed to be advocates for your product, instead you decided to let it down and your customers with it. For most professional Devs there is nothing better than a customer expressing admiration for your product. Honestly, look atthe boards and see if that is what you are getting. Takes a lot of courage to confront management when they are asking for something that in the long run deteriorates the product, but true professionals have to do it and in the long run it benefits the company. Looks there was none of that for the CU....

Unfortunatly, I odn know what its like to be on the receiving end of marching orders from PHBs that say do this now "but its not ready!" "Do it now anyway." I have been both on the distrobution of these things and the receiving of these things. I still don't like it and I think the PHB responsible should be shot in public, but the fact remains that this FUBAR I don't think is coming from the devs, there are marching orders from on high and they are mearly doing as instructed. Does that make it right? Nada, but I know how they feel, and I apologize for misdirecting my comments to them... don't shoot the messenger

I'm beginning to think at fault here is not the devs in this instance, but LA. I very highly doubt that anything with SW tacked on it does as much as fart without LA approval

Personally, I dont have a problem with the devs other than the fact that we are told nothing. I do have a problem with customer service however who tell us nothing . I also have a problem with management for pushing this garbage on us and for telling us nothing.
I have been playing games on and offline for more than 20 years starting with text only games on an atari bbs to Muds to shooter/twitch games to single player and mmorpg and in that 20+ year span of time I have never seen worse customer support. This is truly an impressive record since some of the bbs games I played were run by atari computers in 1983 with better reliability, less bugs and hand coded by the sysop along with the bbs itself in most cases.
Since soe can't compete with the timelord and his "technical difficulties xe bbs" program, named that for very valid reasons but he was always honest about it at least and since I am a more effective person in my gaming forums with possibly more members than swg's forums. I have finally decided to cancel all three of my accounts and let the clock tick wasting my money with every tick.
I feel much abused as a customer and I dont believe there is any way that SOE can ever regain my trust or respect.
