Thread: Permission to put GIF or JPG in my sig?

Is it possible to put a JPG or GIF in for our sig? I did see one person use a picture, but when I try it says I dont have permission. How do I get Permission?

You won't get permission. The one person you saw using a pic is probably a Dev.

Just look at some of the threads below this one and you see the defintive no by the forums moderators.
Those pictures seem to have gotten abused a lot in the past thus were removed.

Unfortunately, we had to remove those permissions from everyone. They will not be coming back.

Gotta love our DEV's and mods. They like us so much they don't even let us have stuff. Kinda like the Government taking away our cars because a few people had car crashes

anything you can display in a picture, you can describe with words....this just doesn't make sense

anything you can display in a picture, you can describe with words....this just doesn't make sense
200k+ registered users to moderate the sig of.
A pic of a person shooting some one else is a bit different than some one discribing it.
Also lithium cant even handle a regular Save Username/Password so pics in sigs would be even harder.

Hmm... bad. And i just wanted to ask what Quests and Duties i have to do to the forum administrators so i am allowed to use my regular forum avatar here, too.

The truth remains that anything disturbing in a pic can be described just as easily in words....anything improper could result in loss of privelage for that individual......and under the Fair Use section of the copyright laws, there is no risk for SOE regarding allowing users to place their own pictures....I actually suspect the copyright issue is the true reason......and it just doesn't make sense....I find copyrighted info on this sitewhile searching the web all the time....it's easier to find text...and again, fair use provides for usage in situations like these so it doesn't matter anyway.
