Thread: A disturbing trend (regarding Tiggs)
OK, so Ijust checked dev tracker, I what I saw was Tiggs' posts in the pilot and Smuggler forum.
Just what I asked for. As for finding out that the incident happened on aweekend evening, that makes it a little more acceptable. Ifthere will be a true increase in communication, then I'll forget about this incident. I'll add to the Starwarsiness of this post by quoting Padme: "This war represents a failure to listen."
Let's resume diplomacy.
I hope none of you took my post as a hostile message; I just wanted some answers. Evidently, this thread has been met with hostility. Can I ask one favor, aside from fixing bugs: a Tiggs trackerepisode in space!

For anyone who checks the dev tracker, they may have noticed dozens of posts by Tiggs in the boards of Shadowfire, Kettlemore, and Bloodfin. From what I understand, this was caused by Shadowfire members trolling in the Jedi forum. I find these posts tobe a problem. Not only is Tiggs encouraging the trolling by responding to them, she is ignoring the real issues of the game so that she can play around and fill the dev tracker with useless Pounces.
Normally, this wouldn't bug me; however, she should be giving the attention to dev-deprived boards, like smuggler and pilot. I would like to see Tiggs and the other devs behave more professionally by going toe-to-toe with players in threads concerning real issues, not in posts specifically aimed at trolling responses from Tiggs. Prove me wrong Tiggs.
Lighten up she was having a little fun and was a nice break from all the complaint posts. It's monday looks like you got an early start.

Did it not occur toyou that by doing so she redirected the trolls' energies away from their destructive behaviour into something far more fun and productive? She was "tanking" the trolls, keeping them away from the otherforums, with something far more effective than Aura or Centre of Being... feminine wile mixed with a bit of celebrity glitz (when I read that "you'll have to protect l'il ol' me" line I almost fell out of my seat!). In the end, the trolls got to bask in the attention, the tensions dropped and the trolling stopped, she had a pleasant break from what must be an arduous job, some great community-building went on, and nobody got banned. Betcha half of them didn't even realizewhat happened.
'Course, I can't help butthink that it's a good thing she didn't need Avoid Incap... she would havedropped aggro.. ![]()
"OMG, the devs never interacts with the community."
"OMG, the devs post too much."

She does a pretty good job not taking things personal. They must have a one day training seminar for dealing with customers in the forums.

Whoa there Nellie....
See the little 1 - 2 - 3 etc. thing at the bottom of the dev tracker? that makes it so you can skip to the next page...
Are you seriously coming here and burning Tiggs because she answered some posts?
Now I do not profess to be any kind of "Dev lover" or fanboy by any stretch of the imagination, and in point of fact to be fully honest I've now completely lost my faith in the dev team/suits/LA/SOE as a whole. *cough*smugglerrevamp*cough*
But you can't seriously come here and try and flame someone for goofing around on the boards... Haven't we ALL done this at one time or another?
Now I'm pretty damn type A personality wise but I can gorram well have some fun once in a while too. Would you begrudge someone their fun too if it adds a couple few posts to the ridiculous dev tracker?
Wow. Just wow.

Nothing personal. I'd just like to see her that interactive with the community on a regular basis. I'd like some real answers, like changed minds for space smuggling, the rebel space station in deep space, balancing the JSF, fixing the crimson interceptor, the conductivity bug, the star destroyer lag, and other bugs in the game. Tomorainer has been working his @$$ off for the piloting community, but these issues have been bugged since JTL launch, ROTW. Oops, I'm kinda hijacking my own thread.
The point is: communicate with the community equally for real issues that we feel shut out from.
And I'd like the whole dev team to do that, and to fix these gorram bugs we have in so many places in this game it's not even funny.
As I mentioned in my previous post though, I think that we've sort of reached the end here so to speak (complete loss of faith), I dont mean in a few days but not much longer now to be honest. I used to be one of those shiny, happy, sunny side up believers that this game was gonna get fixed, but it's just not going to be.
We have to look at it from the standpoint of return on investment. Not what we really know, but what "they" think.
They don't think it's gonna make more money to turn out high quality bug fixes, and profession revamps. They see the numbers from expansions though, and so they focus their energies there. Then as a secondary focus, they work at the LOUDEST community feedback and balancing those issues, to "quiet down" those people. SOE/LA doesn't need anymore bad press, they're already swimming in it. But in some ways like with Smugglers it doesn't matter anymore, we got our 15 minutes with that write up some review site did, saying that the smuggler community had been seriously slighted. Media doesn't care about smuggler anymore, the only real news is when very large amounts of subscriptions get cancelled now.
And that's where we are left at. Now that ToOW is coming, and they are able to market it alongside the release of Revenge of the Sith to DVD, what's left? RotW timed with the release of RotS to theatres.
These right here are the last large draws we are gonna get feeding off the teat of something Lucas is doing.
It's all downhill from here.
Now conversely you and I both know what would happen if they really truly focused first on fixing bug issues (not the half hearted deal they did a month ago) then worked earnestly on turning out outstanding profession revamps.
We'd all sit in our houses on our computers like shut ins, and play every free moment we could possibly play.
What better advertisement is there than one of your friends in your social circle pretty much dropping off the face of the planet cause they've got their nose buried in SWG all the time?
Those people who miss their friends are gonna go by and check up on em, or send enough emails or call, or whatever, and they're gonna say "wow, sorry I haven't been around, but I've been having so much fun with this game Star Wars Galaxies".
So maybe 1 out of 10 friends becomes interested enough to actually play, but that's still one more person per subscriber, right now we have roughly 500K subscribers, so with about 2 months of real WORK on the part of the dev team, they could double their playerbase.
