I don't know if this is the correct place to post this but I am wondering why when I use the search feature on the forums(advanced) i now can't choose the date(7 day, 30 days, etc.) and when I do search I am only getting stuff from August and before.

There was a post from either Garva or Virrago about this, but I can't seem to find it (since I can't narrow my search by date....ironic, no?).

Basically, the date limiter was a workaround added by Lithium to reduce the drain on the search engine. With the "update" we got a little bit ago, they (Lithium) claim to have improved the search performance so that the date limitation was no longer needed. The fact that it was a nice feature used by people on the forum seems to have slipped by them.

As for the limited search results, it might be an indexing issue. With the forum update (especially if it involved a change in the search system), whatever post index the forum had before is probably no longer valid. So the forum server has to re-index the entire post history. If you do a search with just keywords, that seems to bring back recent posts, but searching with both keywords and "messages written by" a particular poster are more limited. This might eventually straighten itself out, but I'd have to wonder about a forum system that is still indexing more than a week after an update.
