Thread: So to SOE community relations means deleted or locked threads and forum bans?

I have been trying all morning to get a question answered about the starship terminal bug. My threads were not inflammatory and I was not trolling. I wanted to know why no developers had acknowledged this bug after three days of it being around. I did not start multiple threads at the same time but when a thread was deleted I did start another one because my question had still not been answered.

Then I get a PM that tells me that further trolling will result in a forum ban. Huh?

I pay you every month for a service that is currently broken and when I try to get information about the problem I get threats? This is your idea of community relations?

Just don't ask for compensation. They only give that out to who they please.

I was never asking to be compensated. I was asking for some communication and instead I got threats of a forum ban.

Hmmm...still no response. Is there really a SOE community relations department?

But my question in this thread is why "community relations" means evasive answers, censorship and threats of forum bans to SOE.

The problem with the starship terminals has been fixed and I'm grateful for the speed with which it was fixed but the devs and the community relations people need to be more upfront about customer problems and not just get defensive and censor the paying customers.

What I found is that by asking and not demanding, is the best way to get things I want.

They may have not had an answer for it at the time. Also remember if you ask a question, there are thousands of others asking questions as well. Tiggs and crew are doing the best they can. Yes we are customers and want to know everything that goes on, but in reality that will not happen. Just be patient, as you see there is a patch today dealing with it.

But don't you think as paying customers we deserve more than locked threads and threats of forum bans? When I started the thread about the terminals this morning I was not demanding a fix that very second. I was asking for communication from the developers...you know the ones that get paid from the money we pay every month?

Community relations has to mean more than forum bans and keeping users in the dark about game-breaking bugs.

So I can now add that ignoring customers is another definition of community relations since nobody at SOE has bothered to reply.

Quite frankly, they have bigger issues to deal with at the moment than this one, unfortunately.

Terminal bug is nothing compared to the unheaval about the "New Game Enhancements" announcement. And yes, I have been effected by the terminal bug. So yes, much bigger issues in the CS world.
