That may be true under normal circumstances, but when you destroy the game, subscriptions should be refunded for periods in which the game you subscribed to no longer exists. SWG no longer exists, they substituted another game in its place, and we did not sign up for that.

Update = n : news that updates your information v 1: modernize or bring up to date; "We updated the kitchen in the old house" 2: bring up to date; supply with recent information 3: bring to the latest state of technology

Enhance =

  1. To make greater, as in value, beauty, or effectiveness; augment.

  2. To provide with improved, advanced, or sophisticated features: computer software enhanced with cutting-edge functionalities.

I don't think so somehow, they have neither enhanced or updated the game with the CU publish.

There is no mention that they may introduce more bugs or change the game into something completely new (which is what they have done)

Would it not be in their better interests just to give me a refund and get rid of me, rather than have me hanging around until september asking the same questions ?

This, of course, is your /opinion/. Opinions do not generate changes in policies, especially since you agree to them every single time you log in. I would happily plop down a yearly subscription if I could afford to do so at one time. And by doing so, I understand, according to the information that SOE provides, that I am taking the risk I might not enjoy it. So, if I ever thought I wouldn't enjoy it, I would assume that I would want to play by gamecards or month to month.

So, just as in real life, you make choices. You weigh the pros and cons. If the pros outweigh the cons, then you make the decision to buy 3 months, 6 months, 1 year. And then, you understand that if you decide you want to quit, there isn't any refund. If you are month to month, well, it's not so bad to have to finish it out.

Honestly, there's nothing SOE is doing incorrect in the BILLING issue here. Your opinions of the game and CURB do not really have anything to do with the user agreement. /shrug

I am of the opinion that the game was both updated AND enhanced with the CU. And if you're going to hang around until September, perhaps somewhere in there you'll actually get over the changes and realize that the game is a lot better of because of them.

Well i've got over the changes and found level based combat very rewarding in World of Warcraft anyway. However I don't like them in SWG since the system is poorly implemented, needs about 2 months of balancing and until i read in the patch notes that it is possible for me to level my jedi then i will not bother logging, (like i haven't since 3 days after the CU went live - neither have any of my guild mates either, the entire guild has left ! )

Everybody is entitled to their opinion, Mine is that they have changed SWG from an enjoyable complex game into something that you would expect on a console (PS2 and the likes), i feel they have taken the game from something that required older players to understand into something a 5yr old child can now play.

Everything that i'd spent 2yrs collecting was reduced to a worthless pile of (insert your own profanity here).

Since it looks like i have no choice but to hang around until september and i'm now gettingmore enjoyment off the forums than from the actual game, then i guess i'll just have to keep posting on the forums until that time.

Updating and enhancing does not imply slapping on an Everquest template. If I wanted EQ- I'd buy EQ.

You can't bait and switch. It's unfair and unethical.
This IS NOT the game that I was sold on. It's only wearing the same skin.
