Thread: BARC Speeder question

I'm hoping to get some kind of official reply if possible.
Will existing accounts be able to buy the new bundle package and get the BARC speeder for their current account without creating a new one? Or is the reward tied to the CD key that comes with the bundle?
I'm willing to pay the $30 for the bundle to have the speeder, but I'm curious if it's even possible.

In the recent HoC chat, someone (I can't remember who it was tbh) said that the speeders will be:
a) Exclusive to the bundle package
b) Tradeable ingame
So if you were going to buy the full bundle package just for the speeder, you could just trade it to your main char.

Yeah, saw that in the HoC last night. Looks like the rewards are tied to the CD key of the Expansion, not the original subscription key. So I preordered on my main acct for the mount, and I'll buy the box for my alt

from everything i have read on this. You have to buy the total experiance package. which is the game and both expansions to get the barc. But you can install the total experiance disk and use that cd key and your old login to enable the speeder.
If this is true not yet to know for sure.I guess its pretty much like the goggles and the collectors edition pack. The total experiance pack will cost 29.99 retail so dont waste 24.99 on rotw wait and add in the 5 bucks for the whole thing. I kow i could use new disk myself mine are a bit worn out.

I think its hillarious that SOE is selling a make believe speeder for $30. You have got to love there greed!

Roflmao your so right because it is TBA, and basically they don't care about us day 1 vets, so they go and give the BARC speeders to the newbs.

Dang... I try to support the devs, they try hard, and do a lot of good things... but this is just disappointing. Give the nicest looking speeder IMO to all the newbs and make us buy the game again if we want it? But I guess it may not be the devs fault. Probably better to blame the dang sales and marketing people. They want a lot of happy newbs to replace all the vets that are leaving. BAD MOVE.

They announced today that the bundle will ALSO get the extra ship slots, something that was exclusive to digital download.
ANOTHER kick in the teeth for those of us stupid enough to buy the digital download. No BARC speeder, and no exclusivity with the 3 extra ship slots. All we get for buying into their marketing is a stupid lizard mount that dies in like 2 hits. Oh and don't forget you can play the live beta a couple weeks early and enjoy all the bugs before the rest of the communtity.
SCAMMERS! You can't say something is "exclusive" for a month, and then turn around and offer it to everyone else the day before it comes out. This is FALSE ADVERTISING!!

I agree, this is a bit silly to say something is exclusive to those that download then recind the exclusivity of it is what irritates me the most about this game. I love being a ble to get the new gizmos gadgets and things like that. I pre-ordered the collectors edition, and I pre-ordered JTL, and now I've pre-ordered RotW. I consider myself a faithful SWG player (Playing since early Beta) however with the reward/bonus' they've given and the treatment of them in regards to this expansion really irritate me.
I wanted the BARC speeder, most people do, and then I'm told if I pre-order I get the Varactyl. Ok cool, I'll pre-order one and get the other in the expansion. Today I hear the rumour that even if you buy "The Total Experiance" package for the BARC speeder you will have to create a brand new account. I have 3, I want at least 1 speeder and not have to create another bloody account just so I can get it. So now I've been thrown into a pickle, do I keep status quo and buy 2 retail versions to get 2 BARCs, or do I pre-order for my other two accounts and hope someone will be willing to trade the Varactyl for the BARC assuming you can trade the Varactyl.
I'm not so much worried about the extra slots also applying to players who buy the retail version, to me that isn't really a reward and being that I used to be on dialup I can fully understand how it would preclude some players who would otherwise by the expansion. What I would have liked to have seen with these two rewards, is offer a one or the other situation for both the Retail Version and Digital Download version. If I want a BARC I'll get the BARC but won't be able to get the Varactyl and visa verca.

I would like to see a response on this also...It amazes me how much our legitimate questions are ignored. I chose the "wait and see" attitude as far as pre-ordering ROTW....glad I did after seeing all this!

This is exactly the problem. There is NOTHING given to those of us who have been loyal to the game for nearly two years AND spent the cash for JTL and RoTW in the digital download preorder.
The barc speeder should be given to those who preordered JUST as the extra three ship slots were given to the retail box at the last minute. The "Exclusive" three extra ship slots were the ENTIRE reason that I "jumped" to order this expansion. I would rather have had a barc than the mount.
Just one more insult added to the injury of this CU. My jedi can't level with the high force costs/low force regen, having to kill mobs WAY above the damage power granted to the character, etc.

I've been wondering this too myself, and I'd LOVE to see a response here.
I've already got the digital download *but*...
I'd like to buy the retail version to get the BARC on my main, especially if there's a command like for the flash speeder, to get a new one if you lose your original.
But will it allow me to add the retail version key to my existing account???
Also have a guildie who wants to buy the collector's edition, to get the goggles and wants to know if that will work if she adds that account key to her existing account...
Tiggs, please answer us, you are our only hope!
