Before reading on please understand that i am a firm supporter of the CU and ROTW, i currently own 5 accounts and do love this game. A few things that i have noticed and continue to bother me about the game though. With all the assets the empire should have why is the game stacked so heavily in favor of the alliance? i.e. ships able to hold more mass, npc characters at bases that are cl 114 etc. When i began playing i noticed most devs were rebel jedi, is this affecting game play?

(and have you noticed the hundreds of rebs leaving after the cu) Imperial npc's continue to be cannon fodder for the rebs i have watched a single rebel eliminate every stormie at the IO on dant. File this under things that make you go hmmmm. Mobs that are cl76 attack faster than is possible for a pc and health regens at a fantastic rate. Npc ships require you to beat down the sheilds to 50% then beat down the armor to 50% then you beat down the shields again before damaging the ship. I guess my point in all this is, is this game the Empire vs the Alliance or the devs vs the players? I begin to believe it is the latter. Anyone else notice this?

Without invalidating your concerns, let me toss my two cents into this.

SWG is a constantly evolving game. A game that uses mechanics/physics/etc to create dynamic events in a computer generated world.

I know that you know this. (in the dictionary, under redundant, it says see redundant.) But for the most part, the people who program this game are trying to find a way to balance ease of play with not only code, but trying to please a group that at times can be completely unpleasable. So we will run into ships that we have to pound consistently to get anywhere with... (which I have noticed, is actually getting easier.... not horrendously so, but at least Im not one shot killing every ship I run across.... ).. we will have some NPC's that regen faster than we can dmg them... etc.... and all we really can do is tell the programmers, and hope that somewhere between the project their bosses are screaming at them about and trying to squeeze in lunch and a life, they can manage to fix the issue. That being said....

I think part of the alliances higher level characters is this:

Because the alliance doesnt have the numbers the imps do, they spend more time training, gaining knowledge and skill. The truth is... you will never see a squad of rebs patrolling a city like you do the imps. And often times, I see two or three squads within several hundred meters of each other. On top of that, bear in mind that the imps have the elite nova troops.... and honestly, just one of those little bastages are worth about a squad and a half of reb regulars. Plus, I have gotten cocky before... and decided that my newly polished CL80, rifles/bh or whatever I respecced to... could take out a squad of stormies without breaking a sweat.

Sadly, I must report.... they not only kicked my azz.... they did so in a spectacular fashion that left me laughing at my own arrogance. So.... I think theres some balance in it all. Perhaps not as much as we would like. But hey, nothing is perfect in life.

Good luck to ya brah... and if ever we meet on opposite sides of the battlfield.... I promise to kill ya quick.

Although I cannot speak much about ground combat I feel that I can about space combat. I have three toons mastered in all three factions for pilot. Imp ships have less mass but they also have much better handling and little tiny hitboxes ie, they are a real baistich to hit. About the same as awings. My favorite ship in the game is the oppressor, not the bwing and not the krayt. Also, imps have really good programming where rebels have pretty much crap except eshields and that isnt even a program. In addition all imp ships except the bomber handle so much better than reb ships except the awing and now the arc which are equally mass challenged with the tie. Rebs have more mass so can have heavier weapons (again, except the awing) and better engines but without imp programming they fly like pigs. Neuts have great programs andin the higher tier ships great mass to play with but no middle of the road ships at all. imps have the aggressor and rebs have the xwing. Neuts have to compensate with programming as well. The krayt for example has I am convinced a hitbox the size of an isd. hitting an advanced or interceptor without imp and neutral programs running is difficult to say the least.

Here is the kicker though that rebs are shafted in space until recently.

one word...

Ready for it?

Really ready?

Bwing.

This is the nastiest piece of crap in the game. its like trying to fly a fully loaded dumptruck full of manure. The thing is insanely designed and is only useful for kamakazi runs. it can't get out of its own way and I think that its the only ship in the game that actually flies worse than the tie bomber with three times the hitbox. this is the master level ship that we worked so hard for. imps get the oppressor, neuts get the krayt (big but at least it can be flown) and we get a schoolbus with bad shocks and a worn out motor.
