Thread: PA / City Recruitment threads
Recently there's been a huge debate over why PA/City recruitment threads get locked. Players complain about how ineffective the "sticky" threads are to actually recruit people. I have yet to see the forums get over-clogged with above mentioned threads such that a sticky would solve any type of issue.
Anything that promotes the community in a positive light and is a sounding board for our players to express themselves in a positive way is a GOOD thing. If a recruitment post goes bad, then fine it gets locked or deleted. To punish the many, because the few ruin it for the rest is only rewarding the few their spoils of victory.
In short, I recommend that PA/City Recuitment threads be allowed to stay. I have also seen a very inconsistent standard of moderation concerning said threads where it seems some of the more heavily moderated galaxies gets them deleted and less conspicous galaxies have them remain for days on end. It just seems like the people who play fair are continously getting the raw end of the deal.
I could see how in the beginning months of the game the PA recruitment threads could have gotten out of hand, or how in the first few months of Player Cities City recruitment threads could have been far too plentiful. However, now they are not as frequent. What they do is provide a way to colorfully and creatively get a players attention.
Bottom line, few..and I mean few players actually take the time to read through pages of PA or City Sticky threads. If it is promoting the Community, why can't they stay?
