Id have to agree with you on all those, i considered leaving yesterday for similiar reasons as these, but i think the only reason i keep playing is hope that this game will reach its full potential, and i totally agree with the economy, i saved up about 1.5mil from doing some missions and selling loot wen i was grinding, and some from pilot and then i had to spend it ALL on a decimator and a TIE oppressor and i was broke.
and as for the CSR ticketsi agree aswell, im might leave the game soon if they dont fix it up, but hopefully this Combat upgrade will be decent

Earlier today I finaly made the decision to shut down my account for SWG.
The reasons are various in nature, and I will do my best to describe them here for the development team, even though I doubt they will read this post.
I ask that community members not reply to flame me for my opinions, for this post is just that, my opinions and reasons. If you wish to reply, please do so only to post your opinions/feelings about the state of the game and reasons you might be considering shuting down your account.
I will list my reasons in order as to what I feel are the largest issues for me personaly:
1) Player Economy - With the current state of the game, the economy is a joke. The way it is now, only the people have a lot of time on their hands or are willing to spend real money to buy credits off of ebay, can afford most of the items that are made by crafters or the truely powerfull unique drops found by players in game. 9 million credits for a crafted weapon? This is nuts. Whats even worse is people would go out to ebay, buy 9 million credits from another player for 90 bucks. Personaly, I drew a line at buying credits to get a piece of computer data that would eventually just, disappear, in game.
2) Jedi System - When the new quest based system was mentioned by the development team, I was happy to see it finaly show up, only to have my hopes and dreams dashed again by empty promises. We were told that you would be able to do the quests, open up FS and get a second toon, that could also become a Jedi, all with out changeing your current charachter set up. This turned out not to be the case. My wife, who had a Wookie Dancer / Weaponsmith, could not even get the old man to see her, since she had to go through theme parks that required combat skills, something she didnt have. Furthore more, it was said that the basice sensativity skills would not cost skill points to learn, but this was also changed to a 1 pnt cost per skill, requireing you to give up skills in order grind out new skills while working on opening up Jedi. This made working toward haveing a Jedi tedious, since once you did manage to get your second toon slot open, you had to grind him / her up as well. This little one was definantly not worth the effort in my opinion.
3) Character Balance Issues - There are so many balance issues that is not funny, from Droid Engineer (hey, need a new energizer battery?) to all the combat classes and everything in between. Lets face it, how many people that started classes such as DE, dropped the class later on, only because once they made a droid for someone, they didnt usually come back for another one since droids NEVER seemed to die. Or how about people who realized that being TK Master was far better then Carbineer, all because they could solo with a TK Master and usually take on REALLY tough mobs solo when fully buffed?
4) Loot Issues - Ok, how many of you, like myself, sat around day after day, hunting certain types of humanoid NPCs, hopeing to FINALY get at least a few +3 skill attachments to help improve your charachter? Or, how about geting COOL loot that was clothing based, that you COULDNT EVEN WEAR because of either your toons gender or race? I tried for the longest time to get skill tapes with +3 to +4 in Weapon Experimentation for my wifes toon, that it wasnt funny. Ithen started to view the TradeForums orlook at avendor to find it, only to find a +1 for 1 million credits for it. That was nuts, and not worth it in my opinion.
5) Quest Rewards - This is just like loot, except in some cases worse. How many of you, did the space flight quests, gained Ace, only to find out that your Wookie or Ithorian Pilot, couldnt wear the helmet because it was RACE RESTRICTED? Many other games allow for this problam, and give reward options choices to the player, but not this game, nope, certain classes or races seem to be treated like red headed step children by SOE.
6) CSR Issues - So many times I would send in tickets, only to get a static response from the Customer Service Reps. It seems that the CSRs are not truely skilled or trained to look at a problam, and if they cant fix it, take and send it to someone who can fix it or can try to find some way to fix the problam. Many times you get an answer that does not address your problam, and then the CSR that answers your ticket, closes it out, forceing you to file a new one because you were not allowed to reply to the first one to make clarifications. On a high end note, theres at least 2 CSRs out there that DO know what their doing and have the players feelings and needs in mind when trying to resolve the problams they are haveing, and they should be commended for a job well done, and if they read this post, I am certain they will realize who they are.
Lastly, there was one thing that was the straw that broke the camels back for me, that was when I went to log in on my wifes account, only to find out that it had been, for some unknowen reason, closed by SOE. It should not have been a payment problam, since both mine and my wifes account were being paid 6 months in advance on a credit card. My wife never recieved an email saying why it was being closed, or that they were going to close it if something wasnt done to fix or resolve some issue that they had with the account.
I hope that the development and csr teams read this post, if not for me, but for those people that are still playing the game, so that these issues may be added to things that need to be addressed, if they are not already on the list. This game has a lot of potential, but as of right now, its not liveing up to it.
I hope that everyone who continues to play the game, ends up haveing better luck with the game then I have had.
Good luck, good hunting and God speed.

Unfortunatley, everything there is basiclymore or less the same as it has been since...well just about always, with the exception of the jedi system.
And that part is not much different, other then just "packaged" differently.
As for the combat upgrade, either it'll be a good thing, or a nightmare. Time will tell, but with the way patches have been going recently, I try not to think about it

im here for the long run. I've been noticing patches have been getting better and better for fixing the stuff most players want to see fixed. Little bugs and things of the such.

I've been playing since release (though a lot less since August 2004 because medical school just doesn't allow me much free time lol) and I honestly think the game was in better shape back in 2003. Sure, we didn't have all these new dungeons, loot, player cities etc but we had what we needed to accomplish what we wanted. Not so many people were worried about Jedi (people didn't even know how to unlock), we didn't have players walking around with 200 million credits, no defense stackers and cantinas were quite pleasant(which they have become again, but only recently). Those were the good old days and even though I had less than a million credits and couldn't afford the good stuff, the game was really fun. I'm not saying it's completely not fun now...it's just that people are largely obsessed with such things as Jedi grinding, Legendary loot, PvP ganging, stuff like that. My account is kept alive by the friendships that I have made over the past year and a half and I probably would stay until all my friends left...that's the best part of the game for me right now...
