Thread: Why can't I change my forum name / chat handle?

Are there any plans to integrate forum names with in-game characters? I made the mistake of breezing through the account registration process over a year and a half ago, and did not notice what my original EQ1 chat handle from 1999 happened to be when I set up this account. This had not been an issue with EQ1 b/c you're allowed to change your handle on both the forums and the chat room, so I didn't pay it any mind here. Unfortunately, I am now stuck with the handle that I put into the original EQ registration client 6 years ago, before I had ever created a character in a SOE game.


It would be very helpful if this option would be considered soon. I tried petitioning in game, but the petition was closed, with the gm saying there was nothing he could do to assist.

At this time no, you cannot change your handle, and I do not know when or even if allowing you to post as one of your characters is planned.
