Figured I'd post this here, since it's a Lithium gripe I've had for a while.
While using the graphical editor to post, there are toolbar buttons for indenting and outdenting text. However, the HTML code generated by those buttons looks like this:
{BLOCKQUOTE dir{equals}ltr style {equals} "MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px"} My text here {/BLOCKQUOTE}
I replaced the greater-than / less-than with braces just to make sure it didn't try to implement the tag. And I replaced a couple = signs with{equals}, since even without being in a real tag Lithium blocked it...
Since the style tag is no longer allowed on the board, this means that if I try to use the graphical editor tool to handle indentation, I have to hand-edit out the extra options in order for the post to go through.
Any chance the indent/outdent tools can be modified to just do {blockquote} and {/blockquote} without the extra stuff?

Just give the STYLE tag back to folks that have proven they won't abuse it. Especially Correspondents. Maybe make it keyed to a forum vet reward.

How can the style be abused? I know its really annoying copying/pasting stuff and it not letting me submit because of that.

People were abusing it to embed images/etc in their posts and signatures. At one point, someone used it (with some improperly closed tags, IIRC) to change the background of the forums to a guild advertisement.
I don't really care about the style tag one way or the other, I just don't want the in-forum tools to use it if it's just going turn around and complain about it when I try to submit a post. ![]()
