I for one, have become really annoyed by all the names violating the character name policy. In an attempt to get rid of those with ridiculous/silly/inappropriate/stupid names, I've started to write them down as soon as I encounter them and when the list is big enough, I send in a ticket and report them.
This is something I've been doing for a while now and I still see them stupid names walking around. So now I want to ask:
Is there anything done with those names that violate the policy but aint from the two first categories?
How long does it take before action is taken?
Thank you.

If it's really inappropriate they'll force the person to change their name. Otherwise, most are let go. This has been an ongoing thing since launch. At one time, George Bush, Osama Bin Laden, and Fred Kerry frequented the Coronet Starport on Starsider.

We're human beings, some think that's funny some doesn't... It's all part of being human and playing a game ruled by humans... I don't take them into defense, I'm more for "if you can't come up with a name, use the random name generator"...

I've seen some "bad' names like "JediKillah" and the like. What annoys me most are the names of characters from the EU.
The system disallows the main names like "Luke/Anakin Skywalker" "Han Solo" "Chewbacca" "Boba Fett"... we all know that.
But I've seen people in game with "Talon Karrde" "Nom Anor" "Xizor" and a few others from the EU, or a slight variation of the spelling.
That burns me up. The unmitigated gall of these people to masquarade around as a main SW character!

The filters in place take out the really offensive names that contain actual profanity.
It really bothers me that Customer Service has to take time away from solving tickets for people with actual problems and game bugs to placate people that are bothered by names such as "Booger Picker" ( there was a lengthy thread about this one)

It was an inappropriate name and needed to be removed. This is a ROLE-PLAYING game. Not exactly easy to rp with somebody with such a stupid name. I was in the same guild I couldn't stand it.
And customer service doesn't work on bugs. They are there the assure that everybody has an enjoyable gameplay experience.
In any case, I encourage those who are offended by such names to put them on your ignore list, that's what I tend to do.

Maybe as his ROLE in the multiverse he wanted to play an immature idiot? Hey his prerogative. Maybe he's using his street gang nickname, I've heard stranger nicknames. What right do you have to say his ROLE-PLAYING of booger picker is offensive?
Complaining about immature names in my opinion is saying my enjoyment is much more important than anyone else's fix it immediately. I have absolutley no care or concern in the world why they could have found that name appropriate nor do I care to find out and I'm right and you are wrong.
And customer service can work on the results of bugs, as in hey mister CSR my house just appeared 6' under ground, please redeed it to me.
Ignore lists are the way to go absolutely. Taking CSR time away from tickets is not.
