Not that it matters, but does anyone know how to increase your forum rank? Is it based solely on the number of posts, or is time related? I want some new icons!

Never mind, sorry, I finally found the post that answers this question. I had a more specific question though, and I think that the official post might answer it, but I'm not sure as I do not know exactly what is meant by star rank. Can you reach new ranks solely by posting a specific number of times, or do you have to be a member for a certain amount of time no matter what?

star ranks are a left over from the first 1 and 3/4 of the game in the forums.
You used to be able to rank a persons post from 1 to 5 stars. Star ranks were granted if you average postings had a star weighting higher then the requirement for the star ranks.
aka:
If you had a post rating of 1 star you were never going to see any star ranks
if you had a 5 star rating you would get all the ranks (no one had that)
My average was four so I would have recieved most star ranks.
It was removed due to blatent griefing by what we called 1-star bandits who would go through and 1 star every post by a person they did not like.
I actually wish it was back - but with some limitations
- can only star 5 posts a day
- max of 1 per rank
