Dont know if this is the right forum to post this in or what. But here goes...
I recently hit the 12 month mark on the forums and was looking forward to my rank promotion on the boards.
i thought i should have been bumped up tocommunity leader, because i meet the 12 month/325 post requirement
yet it shows i am only leader. I currently have just under 700 posts, so i assumed i met the second part,i am just wondering if i am missing something or what?
I know i'm bugging over something really not important at all, just wanted to clarify what was going on.

Odd enough... Star Ratings sometimes have bearing on your rank... Try to get at least 3.0 if you don't already.

I've bumped you up to a 3.0 rating... it's 2.5 but it rounds up... Your job to try and get up to at least a 3.0 rounded up to 3.0

Actually, the stars are rounded up for display only. The rank systemuses the actual number. So you'll need a few more 5 stars and hopethe 1-star bandits pass you by. (You only have 21 ratings so far so it doesn't take many 5 stars to increase it)

Just be careful now on the boards (especially with auctions

Actually you can lose rank due to one star rating. I have a griefer that every couple of days returns and one stars all my posts (a glitch in the boards is that after you rank a post, a couple a days later you can rank a post again) I've went for contributer to veteran to contributer to veteran, ect numerous times. I have brought up the flaw of how ranking is done on these forums but it isnt a major issue to SOE at this time so it takes a back burner to other issues. All it takes is a pissed off 12 year old (or a 30 year old that acts 12) with time and mommas computer to ruin any chance you have of getting a good rank.
I found out the hard way that the ability to "disable" the ranking system in your profile settings only affects if YOU view ranking in your own posts or others. Others can still rank your posts but instead of you knowing it, now you dont. Once again any hopes of gaining rank within the forums can be instantly dashed by a griefer. This also affects any ability to have a good auction since most will be cautious when dealing with a auctioneer who has a one star in his auction.
Currently in the forums there is no way to track griefers, no way to turn off the star ranking system if you choose, and no support for SOE, CSRs, or Admins.
Good luck to you on your endevor for forum rank....you will need it.

Sorry, kAotiC_HeRo, but Ihad readSkurr's thread about hisone star bandid problem and him actually losing rank. Hence my above reply.
I guess it never hurts to do some extra reading and research before making bold statements.
