Greetings, I've been a player since day one and was active in the beta over the summer of 2003. I have also been a huge Star Wars fan my entire life. As you all know, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith is coming out May 19th. Following the spoilers and the current updates at TheForce.net and places of that nature - this will be THE Star Wars movie.
My question to the Powers that Be are this:
Episode III is ALREADY seeing HUGE hype that will surely build for the rest of the spring. Vader is being advirtised as 'coming back.' Chewbacca will be seen again. Darth Vader is BORN. Many, many people will be seeing how this all plays out. Hopefully, Star Wars prequal bashers will be quieted and Star Wars will once again be a dominent cultural force.
THIS would be the time to really really push SWG! Advertise the crap out of this game! Are there any plans to really push SWG to the public to coincide with the release of Episode III?
Also, will Episode III related content be making its way into the game? Perhaps as part of this year's expansion? Utapua's sinkhole-ridden surface would be a cool addition. (along with the factional theme-park GCW-based Hoth, beucase the next expanion HAS to move the timeline forward!)
In conclusion, I hope to see a major marketing push for SWG as Star Wars fever hits May 19.

well I sure hope they take the marketting oportunity here with perhaps releasing a bundle that combines swg and jump. would give a real oportunity to make up for the most lackluster game box ive ever seen in my life. that jump box is horrible. they may as well have put "dont buy me i suck" on the cover. there isnt a single appealing thing about that box.
i dont know about ep3 being THE movie tho. i dont think any frame of good direction or script can turn hayden christensen into a good actor. its really too bad george didnt realize the only thing hayden's acting skills are good for is uwe bole films. im sure he would have rocked in alone in the dark or house of the dead....
ultimately tho i wouldnt hold my breath regarding a better marketting effort. if you care about a game you cant sit on your laurels and try to hope for something better. if you really care about this game youll work that extra hour or two and buy a few friends irl the game. pump the hell out of it to people you know that play planetside or eq2 and have been sitting on the fence about galaxies. push the all access thing. i got 2 guys to come here this week alone pushing that fact.
seriously tho soe/lucas. i dont have an mba or a communications degree and i was able to get 2 players this week and im working on more. imagine what you could do with that marketting department kicked into high gear......

Haden Christiansen is a great actor, just he has some of the worst lines in the script... Same with the little kid in the episode 1.

Hopefully SOE/LucasArts will put a few bucks into marketing this game. By the time the movie comes out, some good publishes will have come out by then...which has the potential to bring new players/old players to the game. When Ep3 comes out, people will be thinking star wars star wars star wars...maybe want to try SWG out. But, will SOE snag them?
Hopefully, this is an excellent chance for new players...last major chance too.

I wansn't real impressed with him, his voice doesn't have a whole lot of emotion or anger in it. But atleast in episode III he's covered in vader's suit....so we don't have to look/hear his natural self.

Not to spoil much of anything, but Vader (Suited, anyway) isn't gonna be that big of a player. However, reports say that Hayden is playing his part with more feeling and depth this time, as he's gearing his turn to the Dark Side.

hes great if you define the word great as "things deviod of anything good" or "has no skill whatsoever"
just look at his imdb.com profile. it speaks for itself really. nobody else in hollywood wants to even touch him. hes got a whopping 2 movies after ep III.
i could spend about an hour picking apart every scene he blundered and why. lucas took a risk, im sure his thinking was something in the neighborhood of "well hamil was pretty much a nobody when i cast him, as was ford. third time has got to be a charm". unfortunately he was wrong......

He had a hard part, having to constently show his bending anger, thought he did pritty good as Anakin.

True, many panned him for playing Anakin as a bratty teenager, when that was EXACTLY what the character was at that point.
The dialogue was quite melodramatic, but that is only in keeping with the intended style of the Saga, namely 1930-1940s Serials.
Might the fact that he hasn't done much since Episode II be due to the fact that:
- Either he doesn't really want to work in film after film at this point or,
- He has been somewhat typecast as "that kid who's playing Darth Vader"?
After all, Mark Hamill hasn't done a ton of onscreen work after Jedi simply due to typecasting. Hell, Broadway shows he was in were actually advertising that they had Luke Skywalker in the show, not Mark Hamill. They wanted to capitalize on Star Wars' success and hence most casting directors had trouble seeing him as anything other than Luke.

did'nt Mark hamil also have a big drug problem that ruled him out of a lot of stuff?
and another thing to keep in mind with mark hamil is that technically he was a young guy who was doing independant films(empire and jedi were both made with cash from lucas' own pocket)
carrie fisher also has not done much if anything since starwars and i get the feeling that had harrison ford not also done indiana Jones he would be a nobodyas well.
Hayden imo is crap, just as the kid that played anakin in ep1 was crap. haley joel(I see dead people)osmomnd would have been much better for the part.
however from the scenes and shots i have seen from ep3 so far i believe hayden will turn many of his critics around, the emotion and the "darkness within" can be seen which is what we need to see.

wow how can so many people that know so little about mark hamill's career in the star wars game.....
hes been insanely busy since star wars, has a gigantic resume in tv and movies since then. but has chosen to prefer the one thing he loves more than anything in the world... comic books. hes been the voices of some of the biggest comic characters on the planet (including the joker).
hes published his own comic books. hell he even made comic book the movie which is doing really really well.
theres this amazing thing called the interweb and there is this place called imdb.com where you can look up these simple things...
or so im told anyway....
rumor currently is that hes going to be doing a star wars tv series after ep3 comes out penned by kevin smith taking place post ep 6. comics2film.com had an interview link about the film adaptation of his comic, the black pearl and the topic came up. usually he avoids star wars questions like the plague but in this interview he did just about everything he could to not shy the guy away from the topic. but couldnt confirm or deny anything yet. sounded like he was dancing around an nda.

The Gorath forum has had some buzz over these lately, I think sony and lucas should investigate getting some licenses and using these as adds for galaxies:
