Thread: Just a few things
I have a small question.
Whats the normal size of unit you sell for meat, hide, bone.
Reason I ask is I have 12k of some good meat...but I want to move on to some other planets to explore,( I haven't even been to talus yet) would it be easier to sell meat in 10k, 20k, or what? what size quantities are normal? I was thinking of going back today getting 8k more of meat then heading to lok to get in on that bone that is good on intrepid right now.
Also. Do you find yourself selling more hide more meat or more bone? what resource do you gather more of?
It seems to me that 10k seems to be the magic stack size for factory runs on most organic needing items, so multiples of 10k work best.
one other thing that I noticed last night that could be placed in a ranger manual....Spawns inside temples and stuff only give 1 unit of meat..but when I brought them outside and killed them I harvested the regular amount for that type...so instead of getting 1 unit I got 78 units or whatever..

Hehehe..I am not sure if we want to draw too much attention to that "tactic."
Oh hey look a naked jedi over there!

Now I have a moral dilemma. Great.

personally, my best customers are chefs and doctors, so i'm usually gathering meat more than anything else. (mostly because they have deep pockets)
hides can be a gold mine though if a great hide shifts in, as armorsmiths put chef and doctor bank accounts to shame.
I have an armorsmith friend who pays me VERY WELL anytime dant avian bone shifts in, as she specializes in Wookiee Armor.
I have a second account who is a Tailor, so if things are slow as far as organics shifts, i'll just go drop a few lairs of Gurks to replenish my Tailor hide supply.
be sure to check out the creature resource guide here in the Ranger forums so you can get a little insight as to what things each crafter is looking for, and this will help you decide who to try to sell organics to. and keep an eye on the Trade forum for your Galaxy to see what organics are hot at the moment.
and to answer the stack size question, i just sell whatever i have. if i have 10k units i sell it, or if i have 17,392 units, i'll sell that too. though i usualy round down the number of units when selling it by CPU, so for the above number, i might price that stack as if it was 17k units and give the 392 units to them free.

Life is easier if you don't have morals.
I am just kidding though. I will admit I might have maybe tried this before. But I only did it once and I didn't inhale (someone was bound to say that, so I snipped it in the bud), and I felt awfully guilty for doing it.
A lot of post talk about how they hate Jedi. Ok fair enough. Doesn’t follow a timeline or anything but it’s cool that they are in the game. Maybe they shouldn’t be at the mass population they should be. Maybe a cap on a server? Who knows? And Jedi complain about being qanked and the BH / stackers and so on.
Although the GCW has been pretty non-existent for pretty much the entire life the game changes were made to drive it. Ok in theory based on a timeline these are good changes to show a flux on who’s winning great Idea. But some of the methods to do this are a little confusing. Ok some Dev’s and community leaders have this “There is no way the TEF system is coming back!” but a little harsher words were used but the post was deleted due to people ripping on the community leader. Ok so basically you and I were told to shut up. You know if anyone one of us said that to someone who was a customer at our job. Two things would happen. 1. You wouldn’t get repeat business and you’d be looking for another job. So why is it that SOE reps dev etc. feel like they are exempt from this rule?
Farming is fun. And a good way to gain faction to buy those cool things like Bases armor etc. and some community leader say “There is nothing wrong with farm” well ok. But it seem to me people “Farming krayts in the Hot patch notes say “No farming isn’t acceptable” So the Dev’s don’t seem to have a problem with nerfing / changing anything to fit there agenda. Why it is players / customers go ignored?
So a response to farming by someone was “that you just can’t deal with other people having fun.” No because on a flip side I enjoy doing the same thing. However anyone faction member should have the right to protect it’s interest. Not stand by and watch. The combatant part of the GCW should be remove or taken back to the TEF if aggressions are show to the opposite faction. Fighting a war is a team effort.
I see a lot of posted concern’s about changing a few things within the game. Some simple some would be a massive upgrade. And some good ideas some not so good. However people are trying to drive this game to be better. But most people are called noob, weak, and various other names. Why doesn’t the dev’s do some of these.
Just because Dev’s are in control doesn’t make you right! And just because don’t like the changes made doesn’t make you right either. But there are some cases were players are dead right and ignored. And though people don’t like some changes the Dev’s are trying to do a good job.
Awesome! Very awesome other than the removal of tef. But having said that, the second problem with the GCW is the time manner that Sony choose to release this that made this a horrible patch.
Being a dev and knowing that most server total average of rebels is 64% to 19% Imperial guaranteed that
Rebels would automatically win without question the GCW.
But I’m not trying to debate who’s right and wrong. I’m just pointing out the fact changes need to be made and until Sony management final starts listening to its customers nothing will change. I don’t know where the breakdown accrued within Sony’s managers, but listening skills should be a requirement for all people involved in customer relations
Kind of funny to know that the one of the 1st music company to go after Napster type software is the same company who also make mp3 players.
Why is it that bugs from day one still remain to this day but anything viewed as an exploit is fixed? Why do dev’s only concern themselves with things you may benefit from on purpose or inadvertently benefit from?
Customer service. Ok people need to understand that it’s not there job to walk you though something. However customer service shouldn’t ignore and call people liars when a question or problem not in there system is asked. I would like to thank people in customer service for one A. never responding to a single error problem etc. by using the Holocrons or in the Chat rooms. And when you see some of there responses if become shocked that you know more about problems and issues then they do. It’s pretty sad if you watch in a chat room people can ask the same question each time a new rep enters a room and the response is always different. Also I am shocked to see when people say cancel and auto type bot kicks and spam’s the instructions on how to cancel step by step. Amazing! Absolutely amazing!
"Yet many people like him come on here and lay into the devs as though they own the game. You dont! You "rent it" as the devs have put it before. That $15 a month does not give you the right to have the final say in anything. This is in that agreement you hit "I accept" before logging on to the game. You know all those words and paragraphs that you skip and say "yeah, yeah whatever" and start playing your game? It says it right in there that the devs get the final say in everything. That $15 just gives you the right to control a limited amount of avatars on the servers in the game. Where in the world does it say in any TOS, EULA or online scripture that the $15 a month gives you the right to have the final say in how the game is run or how the public relations is ran?? Or did we just enacted the consumer god-complex?"
This attitude sums up perfectly, i believe, what the devs/admin/correspondants feel but wont actually say on any post. When I first read the reponse I was mad and my keyboard was hot from me typing so fast. Then out of the blue, like I ray of light, I raised my head and my mouth flew open. The guy was 100% right. I have been arguing over something that I felt SHOULD be a certain way when in actually it was the complete opposite. Like a veil that came from over my eyes, the reason that some people get so heated in the forums is not because the devs/admin/corrospondent wont listen to them. IT BECAUSE PLAYERS HAVE BELIEVED ALL THIS TIME THAT THEY WILL ACTUALLY LISTEN TO THEM. Fact couldnt be farther from the truth.
Rather than enumerate all the points that you brought up in your post, you have to realize that the Devs have their own development plan for this game. In that light you HAVE to realize and take the game for what it acutally is and NOT WHAT YOU THINK IT SHOULD BE OR WILL BE. The Devs dont deal with bugs you bring up, they pick and choose what issues they want to deal with and paying players have to deal with it.
What this game actually is: Broken Professions (some of which have been broken for years despite consumer complaints and ideas), greatly Jedi oriented, lack of content, lack of continuity (meaning changes dont follow any paticular SW timeline nor follow any SW ryme or reason, just some Devs vision of SW), a history of promised changes that sound great havent been implemented in year, ect (I could go on for years).
What this game will become: Jedi. After the CU when most regular combat players will be gimped even in a group and mid level mob spawn con red to even proffession masters, Jedi will run the game. Devs oked a while ago controlled Jedi advancement (two opposing factions fighting each other not for content but so each person could get exp). It is only a matter of time before Player Jedi Masters will flood various servers: a group of 10 bounty hunters, 5 Swordsman and 6 Teras Kasi (all masters) will be turned into Manure by a group of 4 Player Jedi Masters. And with the armor, buff, and weapon nerf this will be all the easier. Players will have to decide to become a jedi or a crafter to provide for Jedi. Regular combat classes will be nixed except for low level pve. The content will become the Sith War oriented rather that the GW that the game had been advertised as. The smart ones are making the change now.
The points that you brougt up are excellent and I can see in you, similar to the matrix where Neo was waking up, that you are being to realize that the reality of the game is not exactly what you have thought it was all this time.
Take the pill.
