Am I the only person that is getting this message constantly here lately?

This is a problem with the Lithium software. It seems to consider every forum action other than posting to be a "search" and the number of "searches" is capped.

It really isn't possible to do a 'search' with the number of people who read these boards. Very very frustrating.

There's better forum software out there, but SOE has invested a lot of time and effort in using Lithium's software. I doubt they'll change.

I want to put my fist through the monitor when I see this message. Every time i search for something and go to sort by date, or click on a link, then hit the back button to go back to the results,I get this message. And there is no refreshing to get past it, your done. You have to start the search all over again. It's really hard to find the information you're looking for when the search system was designed by a 3 year old, and that's insulting to the 3 year old.

This really needs to be looked at.

I get this message "every" day - I would say 50% of my search queries go through.

I get this message every time I search as well.

Also I noticed the search for user function and this allows you to search for part of a login.

I can search for 'hock' but still not see my login, but see other people's whos logins begin with 'hockey'.

However if I search for 'hockey' I get 0 results.

Just tells me that the search function doesn't work and is completely useless (which we all knew anyway!)

I've found that if you get this message in the middle of a search (after putting in your search terms, after sorting columns, going to next page, etc), that doing a "refresh" on the page puts you where you should be. Well, provided you don't get the "too many searches" message again. Don't hit back, just wait a couple seconds and hit "refresh" on the page giving the error message.

This may just be for IE, though, not sure about other browsers.

Yep I get it a lot. Their software must have a cap to save on resources.
