Here ya go.
Quitting over the CU? Sign here.
/rofl
Boy, that lasted a long time.
Give you an A for effort, but resistence is futile, folks. This CU is going live whether you like it or not. If you like it, have fun. If not, well...
Like someone else said, a lot of people are moving beyond outrage to apathy, and us old-enough-to-understand-how-the-world-truly-works types will be voting with our pocket books. We're cancelling our accounts, and won't be inclined to purchase anything from either SOE or LA in future. We know better than to expect anyone to take notice, mind, but some of us have standards, and stick to them, too.
Enjoy

Um? What? I think that was the point... To sign there as you canceled your accounts. Me, I plan on sticking around and continue to preach my anti-CU message in hopes that I may convert others, but who am I kidding. I love the current game, and hate the game set to go live on May 5th. Now I am just here to bother others and troll I guess.

They deleted the "sign here as you quit over the CU" thread. They're afraid of anyone finding out exactly how much business they're losing because of this.
They're afraid of the investors actually knowing how this particular firm rates against its industry, as measured in terms of customer satisfaction. The customers are, for the most part, extremely dissatisfied, so they use Orwellian censorship tactics to cover it up.
This is a real-life, true-to-goodness conspiracy to mislead the remaining customers and the investor pool. Why else would my thread inviting people to sign if they support the CU or are returning to the game because of it remain whilst its opposite was promptly deleted without explanation?
They're afraid of us that disagree, and they're trying to hide us and our opinion. Deleted threads, deleted posts, lying letters from Presidents with no evidence to support their claim? All answered with silence when called upon for justification? You do the math.
I've updated my signature and the previous post. They'll have to just keep deleting. I've challenged GarVa on another thread to answer with why my very civil anti-CU posts are being deleted while pro-CU posts are not.
No answer yet.

It would appear that Mr Smedley has been fed a lot of rubbish by those who work for him. Perhaps if the player base of SWG wrote directly to him he might wake up and see what is really happening. Can anyone provide his address?

Taking all this with a grain of salt I would have to say Paraphrasing the late great Douglas Adams "that his information is apocryphal or at the least wildly inaccurate". The grain of salt is that we as individual players are really only involved in our own guilds for the most part and therefore do not have all the information from all servers. Also keeping in mind that not all people are activists and not all people are willing to go out of their way to air grievances we do not hear from all people. As such we as customers and subscribers are not privy to all the information. A recommendation to SOE might be to allow far more people than planned to beta test the new expansion to get a more true cross sample of the opinions of the subscriber base. Picking and choosing people on what basis I do not know for the beta testing will not provide that information. Drawing names from a virtual hat may well do so. After all, do you want a bunch of "yes men" guiding the path of this game and possibly of SOE?
Really, honestly listening and being involved with customers is what is going to make or break this and any other game. It is fairly obvious from the posts that the combat upgrade has become a very divisive issue and waiting to find out how many accounts are cancelled will mean it is too late to rectify the situation. I have pre-ordered the expansion although my plans are to hold out until the fourth in case there is a change my plan at this time is to cancel that pre-order as I will have little intention of remaining in game with the release of combat upgrade. This is not a revamp by the way so the curb is not really an accurate statement nor is combat upgrade. Were I in the position to name it on behalf of SOE I would say that it is a total game revamp or a game upgrade since it is not only related to combat.
As subscribers I also believe that we are entitled to honest and forthright responses to our queries and as we are responsible as subscribers to SOE to help make the game better so is SOE responsible to it's subscribers to be as honest and forthright as possible in it's responses to us. If this is indeed due to a pending release of xbox and ps2 as some have said, we have a right to know. If this is to bring SWG more inline with Everquest and other online games, we have a right to know but please keep in mind that many people play SWG because of it's differences, not because of similarities. Different options are also viable economically and many people play for the non-combatant roles for which this game is famous. With those roles being more understated there will be no reason for the dedicated crafters I know to remain and as of now we have already begun to have account cancellations although I think that they should give the released version at least a month to give it an honest appraisal in "live" status.

Well I've seen a lot of feedback about how "excited we all are" about the new CU and expansion, but what about SOE's customer support? I haven't seen a lot of posts about them and Galaxies has got the worst CSRs I've ever seen and so far it's just getting worse. People in my guild aren't putting in tickets about ligitimate issues because they don't wanna be banned for disturbing the CSRs naptime. Mostly because they've put in tickets and after the CSR closing the ticket without fixing it, they put in a new one and are actually threatened with a ban. Why are they completely revamping the game with a new system when the current one is still so broken? First fix what's broke guys, then consider creating new game mechanics.
Well that's my two cents. Fix your game, then give it stuff.
LOL,naptime

Hey umm lord. Your post got deleted again.
3 or 4 times. I was eventually banned for it, serving a 25-hour suspension from Tuesday night to Wednesday night.
I've AGAIN updating the links in my signature. Since it appears to be against SOE policy to gather together people who agree, I've linked to a particular off-site petition instead.
Please find and make use of it.

Unfortunately I am not the originator of that very honorable piece of work. I am, however, a very strong supporter and I'm sure you are, too.
