The forums still refuse to save my password for every session, has been like this for 6 months for me. Did a complete reinstall sometime ago of my system, nothing worked. And this only happens on SOE's forums, nowhere else. It's getting real annoying to say it mildly

Previous replies from the Admin team in this forum have stated that the forums don't save cookies and allow you to login at a later time without a password. The save password option is designed to just fill in the password for you in the login window, and to MAKE you actively login everytime you visit the forum after your session has timed out. I find it's usually like 10 to 15 minutes after your last page load will end a session. Also a certain admin was kind enough to point out that the current system works great for HIM, in that once he logs into the forums in the morning he doesn't need to log back into them all day long.
To that I replied that there are web systems in place that allow the server to query the cookie for the password and bypass the step of opening a login window. And I also made a point to note that the part where the password is filled in is specifically a client side function for IE and Firefox and has nothing to do with the save password box. In fact regardless of whether I click the save password box, my password shows up in that field for both browsers on two different systems.
Basically what it comes down to is poor management of the available resources, whether that's from a forum programmer level, server admin level, or supervisory level I can't say, but it really means poor service when compared with even other SOE property sites. Last time I checked the EQ2 forums don't require you to login every time, and not only that, but they allow images for sigfiles as long as they comform to a certain size requirement. I've just come to live and deal with the level of service provided by the SWG forums, because I didn't get a reply and they don't seem to care about their target audience for the forums.
