The way that the "community relations team" acts for SWG is nothing short of appalling. Go look at WoW's forums, and you'll see a set of people that answer questions and comment on threads whenever they can. What we have with our Community Relations team is this:

Tiggs, the main Community director has a hardcore group of fanboys that want to marry her because she's a girl and she plays games. OMG!

An example of her feedback is this:

- "LOL!"

- various comments about Pepsi (to which all the fanboys say "/pepsi", or ask Tiggs to marry them)

- "Paw of Approval"

- "Test Center will be taken out of service for (a quick bounce/a publish update/maintanance). We expect TC to return in (some random number) minutes."

Thunderheart is the other Community relationsperson and his posts looklike this (in this order):

- example of some ability (tuesday tips)

- rebuttal that ability is workingcorrectly

- rebuttal to comments make by correspondantsabout ability which they have been stating has problems for a full month

- "The information is much appreciated "

All of this are things we don't want or need.We don't need to know about Tiggs' broken arm or her love for Pepsi. We don't need smiley emotes at the end of statements because all community relations people think it helpsyou to defuse a situation(look at WoW's forumsfor an example of this). We need responses to relevant questions. We need a way that we can open communications with them. We need to know that they are looking at the issues threads, because from what i've seen, they aren't. For instance, I was happy to hear about the rebalancing of the Corvettes. However, upon going up this morning, I see that there are still CL125 battle droids that one shot you through doors before you even know they are there. We can't find out if this is as intended. We can't even complain in a way that we know will be heard, because we've been posting about this on the issues threads and we have no response, and it certainly hasn't changed.

I love this game. I've been very happy after I came back. I'm happy to see how many new players are getting into it. However, you're not going to keep new players if this kind of situation continues. Space has had ships warping constantly and erradically for two days on multiple servers, and I haven't been able to get a response about it. The lag situation has been getting worse, and there hasn't been a single dev comment.

SWG Wiki: Everything you wanted to know about kreetles, but were afraid to ask.

"Looks like SWG attracts the biggest cry babies, who whine about the game in multiple forums but continue to play it. We are tired of people making multiple posts in every PCG forum and whining about SWG. If you hate the game stop paying the monthly fee and sell everything on Ebay."

@Original Poster, nice Post

I agree with allot of what you said. Communication about the things to come, the fixes they will do and feedback on our own Ideas and Issued is at an absolute minimum atm. It's sad coz i love the game, i love the CU and im having more fun then ever in this game doing ROTW quests, dungeons with my guildmates. The Game, although still very buggy, has improved for the better imo, the community relations, the devs communicating with the players has on the other hand droped to an all time low.

I as a customer expect from SOE:

1) More Posts about the future plans of the Game

2) More Bug aknolegements and post of bugs they know of and are goiong to fix

3) There are many people that have very constructive ideas about things and do well thought out post about their proposed changes, yet we nerver see any Dev respond to any of those ideas in any of those threads. I'd expect at least some feedback from devs on some of those threads.

4) Generally more involved posting in threads about issues and concerns people have

I think if the dev team did those 4 steps we'd all be more content and we'd have a feeling of being heard and listend to instead of the situation we have now that makes us feel ignored.

I put myself in a Devs shoes for a second and clicked on your post.

I speed read through part skimmed the rest ignored most of it.

But they dont come to these boards anymore. EVER You should send that in a registered letter to someone at SOE if you want human eyes employed from SOE to see it. It's good to vent it out though.

The true problem with SWG is that they own the "genre" and there is no Daoc/UO/EQ to pick and choose from. I quit already and Im searching for a new MMORPG but there is none. SOE is quite lucky AO is so awful as well.

I miss Verant. which is saying something. And while im inhere i should point out the whole thread will be deleted IF they do look in here (you do realize you can't post what you did according to EULA/etc. because it is their OPINION of your content that gets it deleted, not the actual content)

I've never seen the comunity in this bad of shape before. I've played from release and still maintain 4 active accounts for SWG. However, lately the relationship between SOE/LA and the players has seemed poisoned. Developers feel like they can't say anything because the players will hold them to what ever they say or even remotely imply, and players don't trust the developers because they now have a history of bad communication with the player base (I won't get into a debate of if it is a well earned distrust or not, but it is there anyhow).

How many things have there been that the developers have not just implied but said would be done. Smuggler revamp, ranger fixes, GCW full revamp (not band-aid), more of a Star Wars feel, making droids a useful and important part of the game, and many more things that the developers have said need to be done or that they would do.

At the same time, the players grow flustrated. No one has gone untouched at this point when it comes to waiting for changes that are either wanted or unwanted. Players seem to like tweeks and fixes, but resist major changes to the professions and the game that they have invested their time and money in.

In the last two years how many professions have been broken, fixed, upgraded, revamped, and rebroken?

After two years, what I've seen is a failure to make the game stable in terms of change. Yes, games of this type will always change, hopefuly for the better, but how much can SOE/LA expect their customers to wait for a clear idea of what they want their game to be? The CU for instance has been such a major change that I don't expect all of the balance, bug fixes, and tweeks to be even close to finished for another year.

And what about all of the problems with the CU while we are visiting that? I am not a Jedi, nor do I ever plan to play one. However, SOE/LA spent months reworking Jedis not long ago. They put off the CU to do it too. They revamped the Jedi with an eye towards the future and the CU. However, when the CU comes, the Jedi now claim to be broken again! I don't play a Jedi and that flustrates me because it means that I may have to wait thru another few months so that SWG's hardcore players can get what they want while I have to wait on the sidelines.

And I am a Droid Engineer. I got two publishes dedicated to droids! Where did that get that profession now? Well, many of the modules introduced have been made useless and/or were never properly implimented. Many of the things that were right about droids before the CU are now broken. However, due to the high priority of other professions, how long will it be until DE gets its next look? I'm sure the smuggler community would have something to say about another droid publish before the promises made to them are filled.

I don't know what I can propose to improve the customer - SOE/LA relationship at this point. Anything promised or said...I'm not sure it will be believed.

You have a super citizen profession in Jedi such that if you make them as powerful as they should be, they will rule the servers and unbalance the game. At the same time, there are just too many Jedi, but you currently have no way to thin down their population without incuring the wrath of the masses. However, if you don't fix that problem, you'll instead get the ire of the purest's and the casual gamers.

You have to balance the GCW, crafting, combat, PVE, and all of their inter-relations...not to mention all of the combos of classes there are.

Your job is not easy. I know...

But where you have failed is you've made it feel like it is the customer's problem...and that we are powerless to do anything to fix it...

completaly agree with you.. This game has ons of potential, But making people mad wasnt the best way to go See what happened? The prices of swg went way down, Bad feedback on best online stores, I like the CU too, But I hate the fact that they made us test it for them Oh well I just hope that this game gets better, I would hate to see a server merge.

Swg ...........................$50
JTL/ROTW .............................$25
Obi-wan trials............ $30
Monthly FEE ...............$14.99 x 30+ months x 3 accounts

I completely agree withthe original post. I think Jedi should be low of the priority list as many of us have waited months to years for promised fixes (smuggler?). THat being said I also just posted a note aboutthe extra respec and what that could do to the game, by further watering down the player base by allowing more people to abuse the respec period and grind out tier 1 boxes and respecing to tier 2 and higher boxes.

Hopefully someone listens. My signature says everything that needs to be said aboutthis game right now.

Just my 2 cents

- I support fixing all the existing bugs, starting with the oldest bugs first, fixing the broken professions starting with Smuggler first and the attempt to make SWG a better game, before any new content is added!!!!
