Thread: Characters Transfer WITH items Question / Issue
Characters moving WITH items will NOT be allowed to take their factory crates, credits, resources, items in datapad and structures. The override function will allow the move to proceed even if those items exist on the character.
I don't understand. We pay 50$ instead of 30$ and we can't move all our items contrary to what the title says???
I could see resources, as no server has the same spawns so it would cause issues with the database.
They would argue that the credits would also be unfair depending on what the economy of the server you were moving too, but I don't buy it. Same with factory crates, you now have the ability to havea superior item which you can then sell at a high cost.
Structures are crazy all architects can make them so I don't see the issue they are the same across all galaxies. Datapad schematics I could see, but then you wouldn't have the resources to make them so they are rendered useless so that leaves vehicles, which again are the same from one galaxy to the next, pets which post CU are all identical based off of CL not anything that is unique, so I can't see the big deal with that one.
That is my feeling on the matter anyways. I would say everything but resources since they don't exist on that galaxy database.

I totally agree. But for the resources we should be able to exchange them for resources of same kind on the destination server.

Oh it is with items - it did not say with all items. Your favorite clothes, your favorite weapon, your favorite loot item, etc will come more then likely (but even that is not assured). It just does not transfer everything you own, It is a risk you take for changing servers. (and you are not force sensitive? (you can become it accidently now since it is so easy)cause once you are you are server locked)

Not with all items :for 50$ we should get all our items
It is a risk you take for changing servers : a risk I wont take, moreover for 50 bucks
Force sensitive... server locked : well this is too much.
In a few words this is pure and simple robbery and worthless transfer process. Items are part of a player experience.
Star Wars Galaxies®: An Empire Divided® Character Account and Galaxy Transfer Service
The Star Wars Galaxies® community continues to grow each day. This community has evolved from the many fan sites, message boards, player associations, and from playing the game. Many times when a new friend is made in the community, that friend does not always play on the same Galaxy that you do. Because of this, we receive many requests to transfer characters to different Galaxies. Although we understood the desire for the Star Wars Galaxies players to play with their friends and families on the same Galaxy, established policy did not allow for such transfers to take place. This policy was established in order to maintain game balance, prevent fraudulent activity, and to eliminate the heavy burden and cost it would put on the Customer Service Department.
Due to the many requests to transfer characters from account to account, or Galaxy to Galaxy, we have implemented a value-added Service, enacted a new policy and established guidelines and restrictions to meet these requests. If you desire to transfer a character or characters from your primary account to your secondary account, or wish to transfer to a different Galaxy, the following Service is offered. This is a value-added service which requires a fee for each character transfer that will be billed to your credit card: the Fee Schedule is set forth below.
This Service may end or be modified at any time without prior notification. The Service is currently offered as a character only transfer without items, structures, pets or credits being transferred: your character will lose all its items, structures, pets or credits (including anything that may have been in the character’s bank) once a transfer is made, and you will not be able to retrieve them. If Sony Online Entertainment (“SOE”) decides, in its sole and absolute discretion, to subsequently modify the Service to offer transfers with items, structures, pets or credits, there will be no "retroactive" moves of items, structures, pets or credits (including anything that may have been in the character's bank) for characters that were moved as part of the Service before it may have been modified.
Please review the policy, guidelines and restrictions below for more information about taking advantage of this service.
All terms and conditions of the Terms of Use for Star Wars Galaxies and the Rules and Policies (that can be found here: http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com ) apply to any transfer or attempted transfer of characters. You will not be allowed to transfer any characters to an account that is not yours and that was not originally registered by you.
Fee Schedule
For moving characters on the same account from one Galaxy to a different Galaxy:
Each Character (without items)
$30.00
Each Character (with items)
$50.00
For moving characters from one of your accounts to one of your other accounts but not changing to a different Galaxy:
Each Character (without items)
$30.00
Each Character (with items)
$50.00
For moving characters from one of your accounts to one of your other accounts and changing to a different Galaxy:
Each Character (without items)
$60.00
Each Character (with items)
$100.00
In addition to the fees described above, if you are a resident of a European Union country or territory, you will also be charged VAT (Value Added Tax) equal to 17.5% of the applicable fee.
Guidelines and Restrictions
- Characters moving WITHOUT items will ONLY be allowed to take their appearance, experience and skills with them. All items, pets, credits, badges, quest status, etc. will NOT transfer with character.
- Characters moving WITH items will NOT be allowed to take their factory crates, credits, resources, items in datapad and structures. The override function will allow the move to proceed even if those items exist on the character.
- It is highly recommended that you do not give away or destroy existing items upon requesting a transfer, as it is possible that your move request may be denied. Items deleted or given away in anticipation of a future move will not be replaced.
- Unless and until the game is modified to permit more than one character per Galaxy, the rule of one character per Galaxy will remain in effect. If you wish to move a character to a Galaxy with an existing character, you will need to delete that character to make room for the character you wish to move.
- A character that has become Force-sensitive or Jedi cannot be moved to another Galaxy or another account.
- Player Association Affiliations: We will be removing any Player Association affiliation as part of the character move process.
- Characters will not be moved to Galaxies that are less than 6 months old.
- When moving characters between accounts, you must be the registered owner of both accounts. You will be required to enter a valid credit card as the only form of payment for this character move service. If you are currently paying for your account with a Game Card or GlobalCollect or other official payment options, you must submit credit card information using the billing information fields provided.
- No refunds will be permitted once your request is approved and processed. If you change your mind about moving your characters after they have already been moved, you will need to fill out an additional Request Form to move the characters back to the original Galaxy or account and you will again be charged the applicable transfer fees. In the event that you return to your originating Galaxy, items, credits, pets, structures, or any other tangible game components can not be restored upon return to that Galaxy.
- All approved requests will be processed when reasonably practicable to do so. SOE reserves the right to deny any attempted request to transfer in its sole and absolute discretion for any reason or no reason.
- The Request Form cannot be used to move more than one character; if you would like to move multiple characters to multiple Galaxies, you will need to fill out additional Request Forms (and pay the applicable transfer fees).
- There are no discounts for multiple transfer requests. The fees described above apply for each Request Form.
- If you attempt to transfer characters in violation of these guidelines and restrictions, any laws, the Terms of Use for Star Wars Galaxies or the Rules and Policies (for instance, attempting to transfer characters from another person's account or to or from an account purchased by or for you or given to you where you are not the original registered user of that account), the characters will not be moved, your request will not be processed or approved and your account(s) will be subject to review and appropriate disciplinary action taken.
- Character names are not guaranteed on galaxy-to-galaxy transfers. If the character's name has already been used on the Galaxy you wish to move to, you will be able to enter a new name in the field provided (subject to the terms and conditions of the Character Naming Policy).
- Account-to-account transfers on the same Galaxy will require a name change. You will be given the option to choose a new name.
- If you currently have 8 characters across all Galaxies, you will need to delete one in order to make a transfer.

I understand you can't agree it's "robbery" regarding your position but it is still lost of bucks for character transfer without all players items.
One thing is sure it doesn't encourage players at all to move from servers to servers to regroup with friends.
That being say, even if it's expansive(I mean for 50$)I would be interested in character transfer with full items
I was wondering :
as credits aren't transferred with the player, this could encourage the players to sell theirs credits on Ebay and buy them back on the new server...
There is also an issue with the non transferrable datapad items : players would loose Barcs, and quest rewards ships.
As theses items are on e time rewards, this could also encourage players to sell them for creds and then sell the creds on ebay for cash so they coud get enought creds to buy theses items back on the server where they move.

At the moment if a character is Force Sensitive then you can not transfer your character, period. SOE will not allow your character to move to a different server. There is no way to 'unlock' your character being locked out of the transfer program.
Hopefully the sub numbers pick up.
