Thread: 2 year vet reward letdown

I just want to take a moment any express my dissatisfaction with the Death Star Holo for the 2 year vet reward. Out of all of the pages of suggestions all that was given was a holo image.

After playing this game for two years I am highly dissatisfied and dissapointed with how the people that have kept this game funded have been treated. Every other verteran reward has 3 options...something for the field...something for fun...and something for the home. This was a very sad disssapointment and a slap in the face.

I know that many of us would rather have had the reward postponed and given us an option(s) that we actually wanted and not be forced. I don't want to have something sit inn my house.....I have little use for selling it for credits as I already have too much money to spend.

I suggest that in lew of all the dissapointment that all 2 year vets get the Death Star reward...and the option to claim one of the other rewards that have been suggested by the playerbase and developers. We have stuck around playing this game and giving you feedback for two years. It is hardly fair to expect a little hologram to pass as a "reward" to those that have been so loyal. Please do the right thing and develop some real rewards.

This is not a flame......no..I'm not going to sell you my death star nor am I going to give it too you...I'm hoping the devs will actually realise how they have dissed their veterans.

A hue discrace. SOE should be assamed of not taking care of it's customer base. Just like the 2 year quest, shameful.

So the thread discussion they had on veteran rewards was a waste of time? Why even ask the community who actually takes the time to respond to these largely ignored threads (ideas, bug fixes, ect) if your not even going to freakin look at them?

Sheesh.

The veteran reward program is meant as simple gifts, it is not meant to
make up for any aspect of the game as this would be unfair to newer
players. While not appealing to some, the holograms, toys and other
collectables are a nice little something, a momento. While this is not
to say that there will never be more rewards or even rewards that the
players have suggested in the feedback thread, these are just meant as
gifts and all of them will not appeal to everyone.

God forbid you guys embrace those who have hung with SWG through two years of bugs, patches, and changes, right?

I think you are overlooking the fact that withouth the veterans there would be no new player base...you'd think there would be more effort to please the playerbase that has supported this game....both combat and on combat types...without our support this game would have crashed and burned....but oh well.

The problem is that SOE set the bar REALLY high on this one, between the self-powered harvesters, the 30k resource deed, and the ADK, I was expecting something really amazing for the 2 year award, in fact my comments to my guildmates at the 1 year mark was something along the lines of wow this is great, I wonder what they are going to do at 24 months to top it.

Thats the reason people are disappointed, we really thought the 24 month award would make the 12 month award look like last weeks leftovers.

Not really. Because with the new rewards also came subsequent milestones. If you picked something for your 2 year reward before the latest publish comes out you only have to wait for 90 days for your next opportunity to pick up one of the new ones. A death Star Holo for two year and a fireplace for 2 year, 3 months. Any itemyou have not picked can be chosen at the next milestone and only a select few (ADK, 30k resource, self powere harvester) are one time only.

Ok back to the original question. Why was that entire thread ignored? And seeing that it was completely ignored why did you even bother to ask for our opinion in the first place?

In addendum. I realize that both you and Tiggs are just the messengers. And I tend to come accross as agressive. I am not meaning to "kill the messenger" so to speak. Im just trying to be as constructive as I can barring personal emotions.

In that case, you're waiting for new content, and not new vet rewards.

but to go from THIS as stated by TH

We would like to know what kind of rewards would interest you in the future. Some of the rewards we are thinking about for 24 months or more are:

For the Field: AT-PT vehicle, No-maintenance vehicle, No-maintenance house

For the home: Unique bunker house 1, Unique Bunker House 2

For Fun: (Miniature Replicas) AT-AT & AT-ST, Star Destroyer & Corellian Corvette

to just holo's is crap...

I agree. Its fine if you want to just give us some junk to stick on a shelf in the house. But when you had already mentioned objects that made a lof of people happy, and anyone who can read knows a LOT of people wanted the bunker house, you don't take them away and replace them with what we recieved. Like a Deathstar Hologram FOR A FRIGGEN REBEL PLAYER! Holograms were really cool when they first came out, but now there is nothing cool or uniq about them because you guys have beat them to death already. I was sooooo happy to ahve my YT-1300 hologram.... now seeing holograms makes me want to puke. Ever hear of the saying "Too much of a goof thing"? At least come up with better decorations if your going to give us house items as gifts.

Then don't call them "Veteran Rewards". Because that name implies that you are being REWARDED for being a VETERAN player. Call them "Junk for your Trunk" or anything that takes away from the fact that you need to PLAY this game for a specific amount of TIME before getting them!

Going off rewards, how about this for SOE's idea of "Fair": Giving the NEW PLAYERS (TTE)a BARC speeder and giving the Vet players (DigitalDownload)a Varactyl?

GarVa wrote:

Agreed, they are, but when you SELECT one of them because you think "Hey, out of all this useless junk, I'll take this "Main Systems Databank" and then get told that in 2 weeks are a slew of new items that would have been "better" for you.. again... Where is the "fair" in that?

GarVa wrote:

Yes, but we are NOT given the option to say "I don't want to claim this now, give me the 2-year Corvette Holo and I'll claim the rest when the bunker is announced". See the point? We are "forced" to pick one reward in order to get others. Then, after we have received our "reward" we're told in an announcement that "Hey! We've added a [insert anything here you wish] as a 24 month "Veteran Reward" so get 'em while their hot!" - "Oh.. sorry, you have to wait 3 months before you can get it - too bad, so in 3-months you can pick from the [item #1 that you want] or [New Item that you also could use!]"

Good way to "Reward" your LOYAL (remember your lovely Combat Upgrade Plaque? "Loyalty"?) customers!

Can you at least UNDERSTAND why Vets are upset with this?

What's screwed up to me is that a function of the game that I paid real dollars to acquire is now unavailable to me unless I pick my veteran rewards, which I do not wish to do until the time limits are nearly up since management keeps changing the rewards available.

I cannot create the Sorosub on my toon without using up my rewards program. Nice way to remove utility from the game that was specifically paid for with a pre-order of JTL supporting SWG.
