Some tips:

  • Faction pets [Ie Storm Commandos] prolly wont help that much

  • Grind either Quenkers and a type of bol on Dantooine (forget which Bol...its heat vuln) or Leviasqualls and tortons on Rori

  • Use your LP to grind to Flame I..from there use that primarily on the above creatures

  • Get some TKA or Pistoleer skills for defenses/better use for the Launcher Pistol (LP)

Once I got flame 4, I went got some good buffs, good composite, and good Brandy. Grabbed some C22 gernades and went to Yavin and killed anything that moved.

A good pet "tank" helps. Just be sure to et one with LOUSY damage. For instace I had a level 25 armored that hit for 15. Course you need some CH skills for that (I had 0400). A better o[tion may be an R5 with 5self heals and 1 dam module. Or 4 and 1, I dont know how many they have. once you get flame cone 1. you can easily take a group of quenkers in seconds before it incaps... oh.. and buff. buff. buff.

If you want a low damage tanking droid, go for an Adv. Probot with 5 Autorepair modules and either 1 level 6 or 2 level 4 armor modules. That'll get you a droid that does 1 damage per shot and has enough autorepair capability to extend its life somewhat.

You don't need to get a combat module installed in a Probot or ADV Probot, they'll still be able to fire that 1 dmg laser. If you need or want more damage, then a 5 combat module equipped probot can't be beat. they fire faster and hit harder than any other droid you can get.

An R3 with 5 Autorepair modules and one combat module would be the next best droid for tanking, some people would say it makes a better tank because it has higher HAM than the probot, but it will also do more damage than a pure autorepair equipped probot, which translates into less exp for you.

If you want to go a cheaper route, get a set of Dz70's or ADV Dz70'sand rotate through them as they get wounded. No need to get combat modules in these either, they'll fire their 1 dmg laser just fine without them. As with the Probot, combat modules will make them hit harder. Depending on the Droid engineer you contact, it may or may not be worth it to equip these with autorepair modules. These should be a LOT cheaper than either a Probot or R3 droid and can still be of immense help when used properly. A favourite alternate to either combat modules or autorepair modules of mine is maximum item storage and a stimpack dispenser unit (topped up occasionally by someone with pharm. 4)

Even though your droids may be equipped with autorepair modules, you'll still most likely want to take some droid repair kits with you, to shorten downtime and do repairs when your droid bites the dust, which it will eventually do.

Also: the autorepair function on droids eats up batteries like candy. make sure you bring enough to last.

Save your FP for the big purchases, faction pets cost far more than they are worth
