Yeah they work pretty good together you can also get novice medic if you like to be able to heal but i decided to get smuggler so i can slice my own containers, but i went up the feigndeath tier. So that if im gettign chased but something ad my buffs are going out bam fiegn death take the easy out heh or the pistol skills you can use with your launcher pistol like low blow and last ditch which is the real reason i went up this level not for the fiegn death but found it to be useful at times

Yeah TKM/MC is the best combo we have atm...2nd is MP/MC (master pistoleer + a good LP..is...deadly)
But...you can just do 0/3/0/4 and get nearly all the defenses that the class offers in expensve for meditation and damage/speed or accuracy...

I am a TKM and I just hit M.Commando this weekend. YAY ME.
It is am awesome combo... I strongly recommend it.
My training is complete.

Yes, I'm a Master Commando/TKM as well and they complement one another quite well. Makes up for our lack of defense and gives you versatility of being able to go into melee when a tank is needed more than a torch.
Oh, and pulling off a successful knockdown in pvp, then hitting them with flamecone/single2 can be pretty devastating.

Go to alakazam's (spelled wrong) website and go to the character builder. Very useful for this sort of thing.

I just went TKA (0/1/4/2 in a day), and man...fast damage and lots of fun.

In short yes. I am just finishing up TKM to supplement my MC and its great. Being in Melee range to use the Flame specials it is good to be able to have the melee defenses of TKM. In both PvE and PvP a knockdown combo'd with flamesingle2 is devastating.
