Well yesterday I reached my goal, I am now one of the Master Commando's.

Now that I have reached this long term goal of mine I have set my eyes on another one, I want to find the materials needed that will make the ultimate Flamethrower.

But where to start, I have never even considered finding the materials for weapon crafting let alone how to make a good weapon. So while im talking to my guild's weapon smith about how to proceed I decided that I was going to ask the the people that have the most experince the veterans of the Commando profession.

I'm not a weaponsmith, nor have I ever crafted anything bigger than a CDEF...

But from what I can tell, what you should think about doing is hunting Krayts for their loot.

Best of luck with that.

Grats... I'm a few thousand xp from Master myself. Comamndo rocks... much more fun then I ever imagined.

I think the ultimate FT would have exquisite Kryat tissues. Keep us posted on how it goes.

I have NEVER seen a special flame thrower.

I've seen lots of special pistols, made for BH.

I'd like to see some Specialized Commando weapons, that'd be interesting.

I have one rifle that's 520-1020 damage, which is the best I've ever seen.

That's sliced with a 5.1 speed.

I use to have a flame thrower that was 3.2 speed, and I miss it dearly.

You need 5 identical krayt tisses, preferably high dmg. It's very expensive!

I would only use them if I killed the Krayt myself - they cost too much to buy, and could be better used in something else.

A good idea is to hit the geo caves and loot some spider fangs. Then, have launcher pistols made with them. I bought 3 spider fangs for 125k, had 3 LP's made, and sold the speed sliced one for 125k.

They're pretty nice - one got a 33% damage slice, and does about 320 max dmg. The other is about 280 or so. Not too bad for free pistols!

Like everyone else said here you need the a Krayt flamer and they can get pretty expensive. I just bought my first off the Tarq trade forums and it is sitting at (speed sliced):

Min: 452

Max: 912

Spd: 2.6

I havent fired a shot from it yet, but will probably give it a test run tonight. At least this will give you can idea of what some of the krayts look like. I really dont know what the average krayt flamer is actually.

hi there

well being a weapon smith as well as some commando skills i have made myself 2 krayt flamers and sliced them, made with normal tissue, you know the +30 dmg -0.6 speed. and had them sliced, but not the best of slices 3.6 spd it came out at, the best of the two.

what i would suggest is getting form fitted stocks from the imp theam park, if you not an imp get some one to do if for you, there quite easy to get. ive never used these yet but what i belive is they reduce speed and ham cost and give that little extra dmg. do not have a flamer crafted with just adv stocks only form fitted ones, as the ham is increased as well as speed. and all you get is +40 dmg.

next would be GOOD krayt tissues with good speed modifier's on them you will need at lease 5 of the same serial number. check your trade forums if you cant hunt them. if you can, cool but it may take an obsered amount of time to get these.

the problem is this, you could do all this spend heaps of money (yes heaps) for this weapon and get a crappy slice. not worth the time? thats a matter of luck and personall prefrece. you could off course get a 35% dmg or spd sliced. them your flamer would proberbly the best on the server. but lets face it how often does that happen.

next idea.

buy 30-40 normal good flamers get them all sliced keep the best ones after the slice and sell the others off.

hope this helps.

Go for a high dam flamer , I recentley posted about finding one . I found my baby at 1423dam speed 4.2 it not the fastest thing in the world but when it hits it hits very hard! If you have money to burn i mean alot of money people will come out of the wood works to sell you there uber flamer. Alot of people like speed some like damage ,its all up to you good luck with your hunt.

Yes, kryat tissue is god. But Form fitted weapons stock is needed as well to make the best possible flamethrower. adds a bit of dmg and reduces speed. -0.5 speed to be exact. I got a ... aprox 600-1200 dmg and 3.5 speed. thats with a dmg slice. And its fun

Ok, Curxcha has the best FT I've heard of, 3.5 speed, damn! and with that damage.

I too had heard that Krayt tissue is the way to do it, and I decided to go get some now that I've mastered Commando. The hard part was figuring out what to do once I made master, and decided my new Commando goal is to hunt down and find the best tissue and have my weaponsmith make one mad crazy Flamethrower. Working up to TKM to help me do that, then go find that one dragon that'll hook me up.

Anyone else notice how many Commanod/TKAs are showing up in the forum?

It's the only melee profession you can take without sacrificing Novice Medic. And since we already have to gt UA4 as well, it's an even more logical choice. It's also more popular than a ranged profession because the short range of the FT puts Commando in melee range all the time, and TKM gives some nice always-on passive defences. Plus unequipping FT between shots lets you take advantage of Unarmed Toughness.
