I am going for a Master Smuggler/Master Commando template on my character. Yeah, I know, but it's fun to me.
I was wondering if the consumables are worth using. I was thinking of taking some of them to the new Bunker and places like that and to kill krayts with RLs...

Not usually. If you can find really good ones, buy a few and use them when you feel rich enough. It's like Commando cash-burning. Watch the smoke. Ignore the delays and misses and pretend it's cool to waste your credits. You're doing the game economy a favor. This is a game and fantasy is what it's all about. Hey! You're a Commando. Do it!

They are worth it if you can get them for free + your buffed + and your not be attacked by anyone. Otherwise they arent usefull

They are fun toys, but I found the upper limit to be 10k-15k mobs that have only low armor and resists. Against high end mods it gets iffy, depending on the mob and the weapon. Still fun to send stormtroopers flying with a rocket launcher though

Not sure about all consumables, but rockets do not have a damage multiplyer like the flamethrower ( x8 ). Yes, rockets are AP3 and the flamethrower is AP0, but against and unarmored or light(AP1) target the rocket will only do about 1000 damage. Whereas the FT, even with the the 25% damage reduction for light armor will still hit for around 6000 damage(flamesingle2) and has a much shorter delay than the rocket.

No Damage multiplier? RL averages 2000-3000 damage on the weapon, translates to 3000-4500 damage in game. (All attacks, even default attack, have a 1.5x damage multiplier. If you have a 17-35 CDEF, standard shot is 25-52 damage.) That's the minimum you'd expect vs Blast Vulnerable. That'd double vs an AR0 non-blast vulnerable (Blast not listed on the resists) creature. 6000 minimum damage? Nice.

Light armour is a 50% Damage reduction against Flamethrower. Against any non-Armour Piercing weapon, in fact.

I have a TON of these things. I tend to use them if the damage is going down slow on the enemy. On Tarquinas, I can get RLs for 18k for a set of 34. When you get them high-damage sliced, I have a RL that's passed 5k damage. I also have crates of grenades. You can get each of these sliced and add a powerup = 5k dmg Protons.

My bad, I meant 50% reduction not %25.
Still though, unless the target has heavy armor, I've had better luck with the FT.

RL definitly has its uses, and i hear when you eat a food that gives accuracy bonuses it can be pretty effective at things other than taking out turrets and AT-ST's
