Thread: Looting Rights

Does anyone know exactly how the rights are granted to someone when hunting? I've been loot ninja'd to many times to count, and I can't seem to get how the system works. I usually hunt with a group against significant critters, and I just hate to do all the work and at the last minute have someone who is not a group member steal the kill and get looting rights.

Whoever does the most damage gets the loot rights.

I thought this was taken care of with during the bleed nerf....can someone confirm.

I was hunting krayts over at the graveyard, and as always up comes a couple of riflemen. By this time I had the health bar almost 50% black, and done quite a bit of damage on it. It soon went down, and low and behold I got "Permission Denied" when looting.

The big question is "Does burn damage actually count to looting rights". Since he died from the health bar, I have to wonder.

Next Question:

Can we please get some none consumible weapons that have ap? I get sick of loosing my looting rights to the first chef/riflemen that comes along. It seems that the T21 outdamages us even when spamming rockets.

The actual DoT damage doesn't count towards you, but all of the initial hits do. Soas long as you outdamaged the Rifleman without DoT, you get the loot.

Agreed...also Master Riflemen w/ good T-21's can take down Turrets faster than we can....

Master Riflemen with average DXR-6bs can do it even faster. Energy resist on a turret is what? 90-95% Much lower on Acid.

supposedly its dmg that counts.. but you know what? i seriously doubt it... really, because I remember one day we were hutning a giant krayt in a huge group (20 or so people) and well.. basically we got its health down to about 1/4 of its normal, suddenly another smaller group comes in, and beats it up, message? you do not have permission to access this corpse... all of us were **edit**? i swear its the last hit that counts... thts what it seems to be

Here is what I've been saying since I got into beta, but no one listens to me. None of you probably will either, but I'm drinking and I don't particularly care what I say right now.

PvE combat should be like this: You are engaged with a target. While so engaged, no one else can attack that target unless they are part of your group. If they target it and attempt to attack it while not in your group, instead this happens- a message is sent to you, So-and-so wishes to join your group. It'd be a system message instead of a big boxy window in your way. If you wanted him/her to join and help you, you'd just need to type /yes or /accept and then they could.

Kill-stealing solved.

That doesn't really work with NPC aggro though. Otherwise a good system.

And since that's not actually possible against Krayts, Riflemen = win.

Next time that happens, ask them to leave your Krayt. If they don't, it's a reportable offence. Kill stealing is actually pretty serious according to SOE.
