Just recently started Novice Commando to go along with Pistoleer, and I'm really looking forward to it. I would appreciate any tips you guys could give me and where I should go for XP, weapons, and armor. Also please share your preferences on armor and weapons you use. Thanks.

For myself I went to Dant and did picket missions to lvl through commando also in tat the feral banthas drop really quick and give 1k exp. Just get yourself a good set of 80% kin comp and go to town. getting buffed always helps. alot of people say use the LP to lvl up to flame 3 then go to the FT but i used it from the get go. I would recommend some citrus snowcake it adds up to 40+ to accuracy. Bu good luck and have fun.

I spent a huge chunk of my time on Endor. I did a lot of missions there (crazed gurreks and some others) that paid 3.5 - 4K a pop). The grind went really quick there. Killing Genosians yields about the same xp. Found that killing Klickniks on Yavin is really good XP also. As always, you can't go wrong at the Tusken Fort.

Well, the first time getting commando for me was THE best experience I've ever had. I rolepayed it the first time through, I took me sweet time. Just going to different planets in groups and enjoying what they had to offer. The second time when I needed to get it back I didn't bother roleplaying it, I just went to dantooine and moved down quenkers fully buffed.

Go to Lok, amazing exp. I'm 1/2/4/1 and get about 3K for most anything on the planet.

My prefered kills are Gurks, they're great exp. I usually go at it in full comp armor or full ubese, but i drop them like flys, so armor isn'ta very big deal for me.

And definitly go with the flamethrower, i mean, how could you even ask which weapon should you use? A FT makes a commando man...

Go to dantooine, group with a pet, and hunt regular (not savage) quenkers. You can kill them in 1 shot with a damage sliced flamethrower using flamesingle 1 and they give you the maximum possible heavy weapon exp (~3k). As for armor, I recommend composite, as the flamethrower has extremely low ham costs, especially when you factor in the cool down time between specials. Don't even mess with the HAR until you hit master, as it is largley a situational weapon used for mobs with very high heat resits and little to no acid resits (genosians, tuskens come to mind). I hope that helps. I wouldn't bother with any heavy weapons other than the rocket launcher (RL) and heavy particle beam (HPBC), and these are still mostly just situational weapons, and best used in group situations to take out infantry.

Ancient weapons and hokey religions are no match for a rocket launcher in your backpack.

Once I got Flamethrower 4 (By using fan shot from pistoleer 0040 + Launcher Pistol on Savage Quenker missions on Dantooine), I liked going to Endor and doing Bolle Bol Stomper missions (around 5100 credit payouts). With flame single 2, most of them go down in one shot and give 3k xp. Nice thing is, if you don't over-do it on the nests, it will spawn a LOT of Bols....so in 2 missions, you'd have 70-100k xp, depending on how much non-mission hunting you do while you're out. Plus there are lots of Bol-type mobs that spawn out around the research outpost when you're going to/from your missions. I'd get roughly 450k xp in less than an hour there. Luckily a Master Commando was levelling pistoleer near there, so I never needed to leave for training!

BTW, I just hit master commando on lowca 2 days ago, and am honored to join the ranks!
