Okay...Here goes my complaint. I just wanted to know why some people have a problemwith people grindingcommando for a holo or dabling in the commando profession. When I started playing this "GAME", and thats what this is people, just a game, The Jedi hcaracter was very appealing to me. Jedi are cool. The have cool powers and cool light sabers. I...would like to be one. But, the only way to become one, at least until the new system comes out, is to master certain proffesions. Sometimes commando happens to show in a holo. So, naturally they master it then drop it. You know, because they are trying to become a jedi, and holos tell what you need to master to become Jedi. Also, I like setting things on fire. Its cool. Andthe flamethrower isa powerful weapon. And powerful weapons kill stuff fast. And when stuff dies fast you finish missions fast. And when you finish your mission fast, you get paid fast. See my point people. So naturally when people look for a combat profession to dabble in, to become well rounded, they see how powerfull the flamethrower is and go with it. I have to cut this short because im getting off work now. So, final word, anyone who has a problem with dabblers and holo grinders need to get a life and find something worth worrying about. Get a life people and get professional help.

By the way, most of the people i here complaining about these things are rebels...go figure.

I'm sorry but I don't see many post complaining about dabblers on this forum so i'm a bit confused where this comes from. Whatever makes you happy is fine. Play a little play a lot of commando dabble don't. The only thing that bothers me is when a hologrinder says something about being a master when they were a master for only a few days to earn and drop.

Before reading my post, keep in mind this is just my point of view, not a flame.

Ok, so Jedi are apealing. Well of course they are. They have this aura of power and strenght, and the option to go light and dark. But why inthis game? Theres so many starwars games that focus on the jedi. It is nothing new to play the role of one in a video game, nor is it new to play one online. Take a look at Jedi Academy for cryin out loud.

People have a problem with grinders, more than dablers imo. Grinders just make the game feel less imersive. They apear to wander around aimlessly searching for the proffesion thats already goten terrible reviews by people who have it already. Isnt it funny that people go through so much work, like a second job with bad pay, to get a proffesion that theyknow is messed up, and end up complaining about it anyways like they had no idea and they were somehow cheated about it. Just like perma-death. That being the only thing keeping them down, they cried like children for ages, even though devs clearly gave a lot of warning of the dificult path the jedi had ahead of him/her.

Thats the problem. It ruins the game, people stop playing for the love of thier proffesion, they stop doing pvp, stop interacting with people, all to play a proffesion that shouldnt even exist in this time period.

I hardly think people have a problem with people dabbling though. If I see someone dabbling commando, I wouldnt realy care. Good for them that they take the only working part from a proffesion, its the only logical thing to do. I dont mind people that grind commando for jedi any more aspeople who grind artisan. They are both grinders and I mind them both a lot. I dont have any liking for them.

I want to make this clear, I dont like grinders who grind proffesions for jedi to end up droping master the instant they get it. Other people who mastered many proffesions because they wanted to , well then bless them, I dont have any problem with that.

Also, I like setting things on fire. Its cool. Andthe flamethrower isa powerful weapon. And powerful weapons kill stuff fast. And when stuff dies fast you finish missions fast. And when you finish your mission fast, you get paid fast. See my point people.

Could I ask what relevance that had to do with anything in your post? The flame thrower is powerfull. I can agree with that, but only to an extent. AP0 hinders its usefullness in pvp and high end mobs. Not only that, but just because something is powerfull, doesnt mean it will kill things fast, or finish the mission fast. I have a 3.1 flamethrower , master commando and I shot flamesingle2 @ 7 seconds. Thats appalling!

Get proffesional help because people have a problem with other people in a game? Well naturaly that will happen. But people wont exacly be so forgiving when they remember they pay to play this game and some **edit** on the internet is making thier experience less enjoyable. Get a life? Odd that you assume people wont have lives if they get upset here and there about things in which they have every right to be pist off about. I dont like grinders ( dabblers i couldnt care less ) but I have a life. I've goten accepted into college, graduating with high rank in my class and almost have enough money to get a new lexus roadster ( Thanks grama )

One suggestion Marious. Make paragraphs, sometimes it gets disorienting to read big blocks. I mgith have missed peices of your post and I wouldnt even realise it.

Good reply punisher, said better than I ever could.

But to throw my 2 cents in....why even post marious?

You personally flamed rebels with that last remark...and you yourself are whining about the whiners (which btw...um...there aren't alot of posts on these forums that gripe about dabblers anymore...maybe you're refering to the time when commando was the profession of the month, and every1 raced to get flame IV?)

How can you possibly say to paying customers (yes paying, hence why do you think people would gripe and whine? They're paying for it...) to get a life and just live with it? That not only is bad business techniques..but if everyone listened to that reasoning, the game would be dead by now...

This however, is a general response to ppl who complain about the complainers...but since your post is targeted specifically to commandos...how you worded your complaint....it was as if you were talking to your audience as if they were 5 year old children...but hey thats just me.

But you also don't provide any examples or hard facts (oddly enough the only "whiners" on the commando forums, do in their arguements)....yes, hands down the Flamer is relatively powerful...but higher up the mob ladder you go, the less useful it is (save for the DoT..which still has some oomf to it) just as thepunisher said. Also, needless to say...do you also know that hvy weapons are capped at around 3.2k xp? meanwhile EVERY other profession can get upwards to 5.4k xp PER kill....so a commando has to kill nearly 2 mobs to equal 1 another mastered profession kills...how is this fast? Oh...also take into account of our cooldown period..which generally leaves the FT with around 1k dmg per second in PvE (on my flamer, about 8 second delay...can hit between 4-9k generally on NON-KDed mobs thats around 550-1285 dmg per second)....couple this with the less-than great accuracy, and we're in fact weaker in DPS opposed to other professions...or at least until the CB comes.

The restrictions on our hvy weapons (namely the flamer) actually reduces the grind effectiveness of commando..especially as heat is one of the most widely resisted damage type - generally on higher mobs. To me, your basic "arguement" (which is also totally off topic from your complaint....) is null....

Im tired and grouchy yes...but 1 last remark: Personally speaking, I've been waiting for the proposed fixes that we're going to get in the CB for an ENTIRE YEAR....WHILE paying...yes Ive complained...hell our correspondant himself was a Professional Ranter before he got the corrspd job....why? WHY? Cuz we ADORE our profession and want it actually fixed (meanwhile we wait and wait..and pay and pay...)

Also..another thing...for a while..and prolly still now...we're in the position of the CH...where you get only 1-2 trees and have the POWER of the master title...hell, thats not balanced....and you know what brings balance? yes...ppl complaining, /bugging stuff, and getting attention to what needs fixing...just like how many ppl were annoyed with CH...commandos specifically were annoyed at some ppl just using commando for the flamer...how does it feel to have spent 169 skill points, and be weaker to a guy who spent a mere 20 points more to get your commando tree?...no incentive to even be the master then, and guess what that does? ruins the game (look at CM/Rifleman)...needs to be balance

And balance has absolutely nothing to do with hologrinders..hell I could care less someone grinding our profession to get jedi..so what? But I do care about people gaining the power that a MC gets, with only 1 tree...why? cuz its unbalanced...

I will try to make this short since Punisher and Starnick covered most things. My biggest problem with holo-grinders is not that they are dabbling or just getting it to get jedi, it is the comments that they make. Such as:

Your statement is a half truth. The FT is only good in very specific circumstances with one of the lowest DPS ratings out of the elite professions. Without making this post into a "why the FT is not uber" post, I will move on.

Most of the guys that post regularly have been with the prof a long time and understand the issues that we face. I have been a commando since Beta, but I didnt even start posting till a littlewhile ago because I wanted to make sure and give sound advice. We use this profession every time we get into the game. We are not dropping it like a bad habit as soon as we hit master. This is our chosen profession and we are working very hard to make it better. Posts made by holo-grinders are typically like yours, very knee-jerk and quick to say how awesome we are... upon further inspection and a lot longer play time it would become very clear that we have multiple issues.

I hope this helps clear up why some holo-grinders might feel some hostility on the forums and in-game. But to tell you the truth, there have been plenty of holo-grinders that ask questions here and get them answered. This is not including a holo-grinding thread at the top of the page that is stickied.

Oh, and flaming the rebels does not help your argument...

I agree completely Marious (except for the Rebel part *wink*). People get so hardcore about professions and faction and stuff in this game that it can be frightening at times. Commandos hate dabblers and grinders because they're not "hard-core" about the commando profession... What? Saying you're not "hard-core" about a profession in a game revolving around space battles and ninjas with laser swords is like saying "You're not hardcore about baked beans! I forbid you to eat them!". It's-a-GAME.
