grenades
heavy weapons
acid rifle
i'm not sure how good these are, due to the fact that before i cancelled my subscription they were never used...
how often are these used now? how usefull are they?

These are never really used, and are useless. Flamer and LP is the only weapons commando's use these days. But it dont hurt to carry them, for when you run into a npc/creature/atst etc... which is particularly vulnerable to a certain damage type.

The huge bonus to grenades is that each successful use of a grenade yields bonus Combat XP, and rumor has it that if the last blow is dealt with a grenade, all of your XP is converted to Combat XP... that is to say, instead of 1/10 of your XP being Combat XP, 1/10 of your XP is Weapon XP.

They are all correct. I ONLY used my Launcher Pistol when I was leveling, and then only when the Mob was on top of me. Now I don't even carry it. I just use my FT. I only use grenades when I need Combat XP. I used my Rocket Launcher on a Jedi friend while dueling, and he BLOCKED IT. He didn't block the FT though. Man, those Jedi can run fast when they want to

Well not really unless things have changed. There was a way to get all combat xp by using a DOT and then tossing grenades. It was very hard to time well and in the end wasn't wroth the hassel. When I was playing around with this and getting the timing down it didn't work like you stated. If you happen to land a shot other then say healthshot 1 then it would mostly count as weapons xp. This was before the change to healthshot so I am not sure it even works this way. However I would assume that killing with just grenades still lands you all combat xp.
