I saw the guide by Ivani, however, I have been told that Commando is much easier to master than he portrays.
I have been told to work straight up the flamethrower skill true. After that, you can take out Savage Quenkers in usually one shot on Dantooine. This is the best and fastest way (unless you want to go to the Squill caves.)
I am about to try to grind through Commando. Before I begin, would a couple people please tell me if I am correct in what I have been told, or is perhaps Ivani a bit more correct in thinking it will take weeks to master?
Thank you for your help!

Don't waste your time with savage quenkers .The heavy weapons xp cap is 3k per kill so quenkers will suffice .And it is highly recommended that you contiune up flamethrower .Once you get Flamesingle 2 , you'll be able to kill quenkers with one shot .Rinse and repeat.

Once you get flame IV, I recomend getting buffed and soloing Mokks (need to be in a group to get the mission though) for the rest. They're great cash, and decent XP to boot.
Err, just don't try it unarmored.

One thing you can do while grinding up the flame tree is use the marksman special "Point Blank Area 1", this will work with the Flame Thrower and works quite well and doesn't beat up your weapon.
Basically just park yourself on a lairthenspam PBA1 and watch the xp roll in. This works great for mid level mobs, most of the time the creatures are busy enough healing their lair they aren't hitting you.
