Granted - everyone and their mother is fed up, tired of waiting, feeling unheard, feeling unnoticed, and what not. I usually try to keep from commenting on this crap because it tends to make peeps fester. Misery loves company. But i feel i had to seeing that skeptic666 is throwing in the towel. He, as well as many others are some of my favorites out there in terms of info and damn funny posts.

My question is this, Do yall really need to throw the towel in? I just think it is silly - and please dont take offense to this - I have nothing but respect for my fellow commandos out there - I think you can look at posting history now and then(i think page 156 or something - god im a loser at work to find prior posts lol) in that i think it is unethical for us to flame those in our own community. Afterall - this is where we vent our frustrations, tell our glorious tales, show off our loot and weapons, and the like.

The reason I think this is silly is we have ALL perservered through this crap - for a really, really, really long time, My point is this - If you have undergone this long of a stretch with all of us, what is another 1, 2, or 3 months going to hurt? You cant tell me that all the bank you have pumped into this game thus far can even compare to another couple/few months. Good lord - you can find that kinda cash in laundry pockets and couch cushions. The money I put in to this game has been well worth it - despite the bugs. Ive met many a great people, been apart of a community who accepts me and my sometime stupid/sometimes brilliant ideas(and all in between), and some really great ingame experiences - more than negative ones.

Let me suggest this - being that I HAD to leave for 6 months - I dont have near the frustration that any of you do - so instead of quiting all together - TAKE A BREAK - a sebatical if you will (forgive the spelling). It did wonders for me. Try throwing another game in the old CD drive or your PS2 or XBOX for a while, check in here with your commando friends to get the scoop every once in a while, and maybe it will help you in these last phases of the wait.

I just wanna make one more point - I hope to god that none of you are leaving to try and make a point to the devs of the SWG population leaving due to all this crap - BECAUSE THEY DONT CARE. I speak from experience - they dont give a crap about us or our issues - however - they produced a very addictive and very entertaining game - despite the probs that I truly enjoy playing - especially with members of my real life family in other states. I cant leave due to the fact that I enjoy the game and you all so much - and this aint coming from a 13 year old kid in school (god bless ya lads) Im a 30 year old Paramedic of 10 years with a 2 year old who sits on my lap everytime I play and OOOOHHHHS and AHHHHHHHs everytime I grill something, A pregnant wife of 5 months(not too long til I have to take another break lol), and am a kid at heart who loves the starwars/science fiction stuff.

Please dont take this as a Flame or rant against you all quiting(because you cant hear my voice or see my expression), It just sucks to see you all let down like this and feeling like you are forced to leave due to unending crap. Skeptic - I wish you the best man - I hope you and the others take my advice - I have the utmost confidence in Garvin(I dont think he is a DEV lackey or YES man to appease us - and whoever posted that nonsense or even hinted towards it IMHO has a lot of balls due to the great amounts of work that MAN has done for us).

I hope this breaks through your frustration a little - and just know if you do leave - I for one will always welcome you back like you were never gone - just get on the friggin Gorath server will ya. It seems like Im all alone here.

Hope it helps - try and stay the course

Oh by the way skeptic - after reading more into your post with the whole correspondent thing - I see now you did not point any of that at Garvin - So I stand corrected - and send my deepest apologies - I still hate to see ya go!

Waves, I'm one of the people throwing in the towel, and I can see what your saying but I think the diffrence between us lies in a number of areas.

My point is this - If you have undergone this long of a stretch with all of us, what is another 1, 2, or 3 months going to hurt? You cant tell me that all the bank you have pumped into this game thus far can even compare to another couple/few months. Good lord - you can find that kinda cash in laundry pockets and couch cushions. The money I put in to this game has been well worth it - despite the bugs. Ive met many a great people, been apart of a community who accepts me and my sometime stupid/sometimes brilliant ideas(and all in between), and some really great ingame experiences - more than negative ones.

My question is, why do you assume it's just another 1-3 months? Since January when they first started making thier promises it was also 'just a couple of months' That never changed, they just kept shifting the deadline 'just a few more months' into the future. For me it's just been 'a few more months' far to many times now. It's not the money that affects my decision but the fact that the game and the way its run has turned into a source of fustration and annoyance rather than a source of fun and enjoyment. When that happens, I feel it's time to move on.

From your post it sounds like your still having a blast with the game. Thats great, I'm kinda envious. If I was still having fun I would'nt be going anywhere.

I'm not leaving to make some form of statement. Though I think that what your saying might be well illustrate the core of the problem. If the devs don't care about our issues or the fact that people are leaving in fustration, then why would I want to stay? With an attitude like that, how can I have any hope for future enjoyment in the game?

Let me suggest this - being that I HAD to leave for 6 months - I dont have near the frustration that any of you do - so instead of quiting all together - TAKE A BREAK - a sebatical if you will (forgive the spelling). It did wonders for me. Try throwing another game in the old CD drive or your PS2 or XBOX for a while, check in here with your commando friends to get the scoop every once in a while, and maybe it will help you in these last phases of the wait.

Hehe, well that one advantage of 'quiting', you can always change your mind. Taking a sabatical and quitting is really the same with the one diffrence being whether you imagin that your going to return at some point. If the devs does come through and things improve, who knows, maybe ill come back *shrug*. Personally I can't see the dev team improving the game to a point where I'd find it enjoyable again, but I'd love to be proven wrong

A pregnant wife of 5 months(not too long til I have to take another break lol), and am a kid at heart who loves the starwars/science fiction stuff.

Congratulations Remeber to teach them to take thier flame throwers outside if they want to play with them!

Anyways, best of luck with the game, I hope you'll contunue to enjoy it as much as you are already. For me, I've stoped enjoying myself when playing, and with so many new games comming out in the near future i'll be looking for a game where I have more faith in the development team.

I haven't been frequenting the boards for all that long... but I remember being in the home stretch back in June.

Well, I'll be dropping commando soon, after all these months(started 12/03) I'll finally reach an even more jacked profession in jedi. This weekend should be my final commando days. It's been a cool prof., the only complaint I would make is that alot of hard creatures and npc are too high in resist to heat and with heavy armor, but it was awesome doing 13k damage with flame single 2. Commando has been my only fighting prof. for a while now, and it has been a great help in the fs xp.

Yes, I'm still here, but it's sure as hell not because of actually playing the game. I was just lucky enough to find a great group of people that I could associate with. I actually dropped Bounty Hunter for a few months and I haven't hunted in weeks. Basically I'm paying $15 a month for a chat room, not a video game. If the actual game is all I cared about I would have left after they delayed the revamp and then changed their minds about the professional hot fixes.

You say "a couple of months" like it's an actual time frame. Yes, every "couple of months" the devs come out with some new way to delay the upgrade and hand us some "big secret" that's too holy to share with their customer base. I'd say simply telling us what they had planned would be enough, but then again there's no gaurantee they'll keep their word.

When they said that JTL would precede the Revamp (as it was then called) the correspondants told us not to worry because they were flying out to Austin to speak with the devs, and once they came back they'd fix the most important combat problems of each prof. Well, they came back, said the "upgrade" would be fantastic, but we'd still have to wait because they weren't touching anything for the moment. To be honest, I felt very betrayed. I was told that the revamp would come first. It didn't. As a consolation, the most important parts would be at least "band-aided" until then. They weren't. I was told that it would be pointless to "patch" something when the "fix" was right around the corner... but all I took it as was another broken promise and another delay. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the "big surprise" TH has planned for us this week is that there won't be a combat upgrade after all. Call me skeptic, but I see no reason to think otherwise.

aaa I love you too

I am not quiting as of now I said I would stay untill Space got boring and since I was in beta I cant see that for at least a month or 2. If they don't do any thing or say any thing by then it won't be worth sticking around another year to hear any thing. And im sure Commando will read good things but im sure in the end we will get the shaft as time has shown us again and again.

Samous, so how do ya fel know? are you still skeptical or a little more encouraged. I for one am pretty happy with the announcement - hope you are too man. I see your point as it being an expensive chat room - Ive felt that way a couple times - but maybe with the upcoming changesitll bring some spice to it. Honestly I am extremely excited - but again ive been gone for 6 months. Anywho - hope the news helped ya out - barely know ya - but hate to hear the community being down.

Good luck to ya

Still skeptical. I'll believe it when it goes Live. ATM we've been given no proof that this exists beyond paper.

Either way, no set timeframe has been given. We could see the Upgrade as early as December or as late as May (if it doesn't happen by then, my guess is that it's not going to happen at all).
