Thread: delay mod on FT specials?

just wondering if there ever where any official numbers on the damage, and most importantly delay mods.

if the stickied links thread they mention a delay mod of 2.5, but that seems to low to me.

I have a 2.5s FT and with 45 FT speed I fire flame2 every5 seconds, I didn't test it before, but it seemed even slower to me before I picked up +6 FS melee speed.

now if I'd consider the FS melee speed to have no influence that would mean the delay is somwhere between 3.5 and 4. if the FS melee speed DOES have an influence it'll be even higher.

just trying to get my facts straight

At Master Commando, a shortcut to the delay is multiplying your weapon speed by 2.2 (or 2.22). My 2.3spd flamer shoots flamesingle2 off at 5.1 seconds each.

I have no idea how FS speed works, though.

mmm mine is 2.5 seconds, I have +6 melee speed and when I tested loads of FS2 it was 5 seconds per shot consistently.

I'll now for sure it FS speed works when I get the next box.

So..........where can I pick up a Flame Thrower like those? Are those specially made with Krayt Tissues, I got some special FT's that I want to get sliced. Can I expect a slice to get a FT down to 3.0 speed or so?

I'm not sure but the tissue on mine must have been around -.8 or -1s. using an imperial formfitted stock takes off another 0.5s of the speed.

Mine was 3.2 presliced

The commando FT specials flamesingle1, flamecone1, and flamesingle2 have time mods of 4 checked them multiple times, with many different FTs and they always come out to a delay of 4.

That's true, but with Flame4, you will have a+45 flamethrower speed mod. When you factor this in, you end up with

[FTspd] * [delay] * (100 - [mod])/100

I'm a Master Commando with a 2.3spd FT, so my equation is

[2.3]* [4] * (100 - [45])/100
= 5.1 seconds per special

If youhave Flame4, you canjust combine the [delay] with the [mod] to end up with

[FTspd] * 2.2

Other than that, I have no idea how FS speed factors in.

mmmm 2.1 speed flamer goodness, theoretically shooting at 4.6secs. sounds about right. Mine was a krayt flamer with speed tissue and a FFS, was 2.9 preslice 2.1 post-slice

Current Guesstimation of the formula (since SOE does not post hard numbers)

Weapon Delay*Attack Delay*(100-skillmod/100) is as close as your gonna find to explain the existing system works. The way that Skillmod works as a % decrease of attack speed, is the reason that attack delays become null and void at 97+ skill...the reason Riflemen can spam attack with 7.5 speed rifles at master.

NumbersIF FS ranged speed worked with FTs you would add +12 (if maxed) to your speed mod of +45 and get a new faster speed modifier of +57...

working your numbers

Normal Flame4

[2.3]* [4] * (100 - [45])/100 = 5.1 seconds per special
[2.3]* [4] * (55/100) = 5.06 seconds per special

FS Ranged speed4 w/ Flame4

[2.3]* [4] * (100 - [45+12])/100 =
[2.3]* [4] * (43/100) = 3.96 seconds per special

Wish they would throw us a bone and give us some FT speed at Master Commando.
